  1. Hi everyone i'am looking for some advice please ref ETS i'am a member of the NWHU who i think frown on the ETS system. all members in my club either don't have it or are reluctent to have it. My question is, is it possible for me to be the only person in the Club with ETS and still compete. And if so what would be the pitfalls. I appreciate that there have probably aready been threads on this but could some one please advice. Many thanks WINGS
  2. Yes lets hope all is well soon
  3. Cheers Harky will take that on board
  4. He Got good advice did he not
  5. Thanks for the advice Rose.
  6. May be you should vet who you give advice to like i said earlier novices would benfit from good sound advice like from yourself.
  7. Maybe Not, i apolgise for seeming rude or offencive but i believe that people should if they have the knowledge pass it on for the good of the sport, not everbody entering this site knows were to go for advice. at the end of the day we are all trying to keep the sport going. are we not.
  8. Then why not continue with the good support that she is giving, helping novices is what it is all about is it not, we want to keep people in the sport and encourage them to stay if new people to the sport don't know were to turn for advice may be they will leave and then that is a disaster for the pigeon world,
  9. But there are new people joining this site on a regular basis, new people to the sport that need advice don't you think that people young and old would benfit from people like yourself being abit more tolerant and posting advice when it is needed.
  10. To far for me to come and have a look i would have liked to see the birds before purchasing thanks for talking

  12. well if you are fed up with giving advice then don't give it. as quoted in previus reply peolple are looking for advice. That is why most people come on to this site. FOR HELP.
  13. Has the cock done any winning or is it purely a stock pigeon
  14. Cheers then Chrissy unfortunatly not everbody has been racing pigeons as long as you.
  15. I have had 10 pairs, 5 young hatched from these, 2 pairs did not lay 1 pair did not fill there eggs 1 x cock got into another box and smashed the eggs while fighting (the eggs were about to hatch in a couple of days) a hen fighting with another hen broke one of her eggs and then abandonded the other, But things seem to have settled downnow. Most of the birds are now sitting eggs if they are not there own they are another pairs. So answer to your question is yes, you are not on your own.

  21. Hi I have a pigeon in my stock loft that over the last week has developed watery eyes, in the last day they seem to have got worse the skin round the eyes had become red it looks like he is scratching them, he also seems to be trying to swallow or gag none of the other birdsa in the stock loft seem to be affected by this. I was wondering what i should do next, has anbody got any advice please as to steer me in the right direction. VMT
  22. As jas siad lock them in a box let them out after 2 days but then lock them in at night. That should get them used to there own box and make them feel that the box belongs to them. hope this helps.

  24. i have seen on a regular basis a perigrin flying over my house it just seems to fly over and not bother . but the other day when the birds were out it did the sme thing flew past but 10 mins later it was back but with another one, luckly they didn't take any of the birds but scaredthem enough to have them in bushes under the loft and all over the place. i wish i could say that this was an isolated occassion but it has happened about 4 times now, in the last 6 months, and the birds have only been out about a dozen time since the end of the last seaon. i also have a pair of sparrowhawks kicking about. one day the hen bird had one of my birds in its claws in mid flight, but it dropped it when i shouted and caused a commotion. after that my bird went under the loft, the hawk went over the fence turned and came back and just sat on the gate looking for the bird, maybe people should take the law into there own hands.
