How disapointing to hear that the fellow fanciers wan't report birds that have come into there lofts. imagen this, a young lad/lass just starting out he/she has saved all there pocket money to buy a pair of stock birds and breed 4 lovely young ones of them they have trained them feed and watered them watched them grow, and then in the first race they have not quite made it home but landed in some other fanciers loft. and god knows what happens to them then. this young fancier will be devastated. everything lost in one race. i thought we were trying to keep this sport of ours going.

Try not feeding them for a day, Throug the belly to the brain is what a good old fancier once told me and it works, you need to be getting the birds out before they get to strong on the wing if they are older try damping there wings down so they can't fly to strong,

Sorry to hear that tom, I probabley over reacted there but these guys some how should be taught a lesson, what gives them the right to be were they are and doing what they do at that time of night, As on a previus thread CCTV might do but that could be to late once they have torched your loft, or stolen all your stock.

Is that 3AM or should it read 3PM if its AM then why are kids out at that time of night i'am sure my son would not be out at that time and if i found out he was then there would be hell to pay, I think if you ever catch these kids you should find out were they live and go and give there parents a good kicking that would stop the kids coming round, if the parents thought they were going to get it everytime there child was misbehaveing they would soon sort them out.

Buy yourself a big dog that can live outside and does alot of barking when anyone is around. will definatly help because all these lads are oppertunists and anything that will get in there way will deter them. Good Luck

Sounds like good advice, but could i buy the approprate equipment, i suppose i should put it to the club and see what they say. problem is some of the older generartion don't seem to like change and who can blame them, i just feel we will have to move with times sooner rather than later, and my situation at the moment is pushing me to the sooner.

The birds will love the sun and probably perform better for it. just make sure you can close it completely so as not to let any drafts in during the winter.

Do you have any Photos of these pigeons i may be interested in the Cock or are they to be sold as a pair. Have they got pedigrees and have they breed any winners, if so what races have the young won.

The problem is that i'am going to spend a lot of time away from home inthe next 12 months and i am trying to make life a easy as possible for the wife and the young lad so that i can keepthe birds. other wise i would be patient and wait, there is nothing i like better than watching the birdscome home at weekend and timing them in.
