  1. I would't mind trying racing from Ireland in a West wind save losing them in a cold East but with my luck they would come back with a "Yankee" accent
  2. If it was true about the roofs half my street would be dead and buried
  3. That's why I would never bid on an internet auction to then set the price for another and if thereare any unsold you could get them for a song (not that I can sing) I saw on the SWOL site some of their birds were unsold (last year) and were given away to local fanciers.
  4. Totally unfair to people who are bidding on pigeons - should have a time extension especially for the cause it is pertaining to
  5. I think Frank would have been more than happy - good job you were not buying in your sleep
  6. Roland must have just woken up
  7. Just like the old days Sartilly,Rennes & Nantes
  8. A lot of companies now allow an employee onto the board, Karen could be our representative and protect our interests from the inside or is this expecting too much.
  9. Has anyone down in that area got any contact with any of the local papers that could take a lead and pass it onto The Nationals. Now that the can has been opened all the worms may as well be let out. I think Gangster summed it up correctly - we have an organisation that does not "seem" to work for us and "Jobs For The Boys" is the order of the day. Maybe Karen could be of more use to us on the outside by getting elected onto the committees and encourage others to do the same
  10. The English Bull Terrier did not get the name "The Gladiator of the canine world" for nothing, fearless and has a tremendously high pain threshold and a couch potato at home. I think the smaller terriers are best for protecting your lofts, noisy and can get into areas that the bigger dogs can't and like most terriers will fight with their shadow.
  11. The old willing horse syndrome springs to mind "the more you do the more you get to do" Thankless job someone always trying to shoot you down - I raise my glass to all who take the job as without you the options are "No Club"
  12. My dear mr tskyes unfortunately you have taken umbrage with a harmless post as your pm would also infer. When Chris Posted "hope you were polite" my post should have been just after it,(two were posted in between) "Surely you wouldn't expect anything else from a member of Pigeonbasics" (but to be polite) I don't know where you could take offence from a totally innocuous post. It's not nice to send nasty PMs
  13. Surely you would not expect anything else from a member of Pigeonbasics (shrug)
  14. Foot in mouth seems about right (not Navigator)

Is this the signs of the times and the squeeze starting to bite as from the 15th Oct. Elimar will no longer accept payment by Paypal
  16. Rats on the move,we called it a "Rat Flitting" as we are near the river it is a sight to see nothing haphazard single file (20/30 and always seem to know where they are going.
  17. Was Ch.Workman not a famous pigeon

Sorry if I am wrong was there not an act to say pitbulls had to be castrated or neutered and if true where would pitbull pups come from. I know before that a lot of people crossed the pitbull and staffy which led to staffy type dogs with longer legs which were passed off as staffies which is wrong as the staffies are great dogs don't know about the cross breeds.
  19. He's ate all the pies

    Dunoon Show

Dunoon Show 15th & 16th November in the Queens Hall
  21. Did he not write a book -" A lifetime in pigeons" may be wrong but remember reading something about it
  22. I remember going to an auction in Dudley where he was the auctioner I think he done it quite a bit later on.
  23. The festering sores that are endemic in pigeon racing have been observed by most of us but we in the whole try to see the best in everyone but reading in different forums about fanciers being refused membership,Feds "alleged" thinking about moving their boundaries, fanciers getting ripped off buying birds and the constant sniping that goes on in "most" clubs. I personally don't have the answers but have aligned myself to the quote "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing" Evil may be a bit strong but whoever phrased the quote did not realise the impact in this day and age
  24. With the increses in gas, electricity, fuel and now the credit crunch which may lead to higher interest charges do you think the prices of birds at Blackpool may reflect all these and fanciers may get a few real bargains as dealer will not want to take baskets of unsold birds back home or will there be a shortage.
  25. Is the Dunoon show on this year?
