  1. I have submitted a photo, but worry that this competition mayl become more about 'who has the best camera'...............rather than which pigeon is clearly the best. I hope not, ..........but poorer quality pictures will of course portray the birds in a completely different light.
  2. just converting my old brick garage for my YB shed for next season....... Its nothing fancy........ I partitioned it off twice, to prove a 10ft x 3 store..............with a sliding door into a 10 ft x 6 ft section which will be 'perched' out......I have took the window out completely which provides a 4 ft x 2 ft hole, which I hinged and old fence panel to darken it off etc.... at the back of the garage I've built a 3 ft x 9 ft flight...............got plenty to do yet, but upto to now all in all its cost me about £100.00........and a few lunch hours..........not bad really ;D
  3. thanks.......was wanting an early start on breeding.....I'll leave it another couple of weeks to be sure

  6. did you win the national lottery ;D that is a beautifull loft mate........you should be proud of yourself could I be cheeky and ask what the total build cost was........I am looking for some new lofts back end of next year......and not sure whether or not to build my own bispoke loft or buy one. all thje best

  9. .......he certainly talks a good game thats for sure....................those emporers are suposed to be the kiddies
  10. I think that is a suberb price for a bird with such a great scoring sire.
  11. I would be interested in an online show!!!........
  12. thats a nicer little earner just before christmas ay ;) ;) ;) them pups are a credit to you
  13. I know that the Tony Mardon Staff Van Reet - Toey - was indeed a very special pigeon. I also know of one fancier in Wales who alledges to have paid £4,000 at blackpool for a pair of birds out of Toey......
  14. ...the answers still no........ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D hahahahahahaha ;)
  15. Perhaps!!!!......................I currently have about 17 pairs of pure whites!!!!!!!
  16. The old boy is a cracker......there alot of history behind that bird....he's not so good on his legs nowadays, but is still filling....I'm going to try and float some of his eggs, as he is class..........I suppose the proof will be in the flying though!!!!
  17. Suprisingly this bird is a 7 year old Karel Herman from the Stock loft of the Ward Brothers in South Emsall...despite its Rapido looks.....he is a very highly decorated pigeon in terms some of the races he has won.
  18. was just messing about with the camera this morning in the stock lofts....the birds have finished moulting and are looking like film stars.......just thought I'd share a few pictures with you. Amongst them I have Busschaert Rapidos Loguns Karel Hermans and the large b/b heavily wattled cock is a Van - Loon....hes 10 years old and probably my favourite bird.
  19. lovelyv job....................simple but effective... Where do you intend to breed.......or are they YB lofts
  20. Thanks.......I am thinking more on the lines of a complete feeding system though
  21. Thanks Timbarra...thats good advise......so effectively I don't to modify the feed too much...as long as its good quality food.....with small seeds like rape or the like.. I assuming that you hopper feed in the evening, and when the birds take a swig...in your eyes....they've had enough food? Thanks for the no- I will keep this, and give you a call sometime
  22. Thanks Tony.................thats a very sensible notion I will come back to you later Thanks
  23. thanks Ace & J.A.M 77 veiws and thats it :-/ ...................dont worry about it.......................... I'll buy a book
  24. As I mainly keep the white for my dove release company, they mainly get an ounce and half of ecomony mixure (per bird per day) with tonic once a week...and a dash of garlic oil .........to keep them in good nick...they have several types of grit, and minerals available at all times I hopper feed once a day, and give them fresh clean water...and give some multi vits etc when moulting. The loft 'was' quite natural with the stock doing their own thing..and youngsters transfered into another section when weaned..... When eggs are hatched I galley pot feed the adults and just add a few red skinned peanuts during the day to boost the protien.......other than that; that is it........ I am aware that I am going to have to much more methodical when rearing a young race team, as I have been getting it drilled into me that nutrition is the key.....
  25. As you maybe aware, I am looking forward to my first years racing next year after years of keeping pigeons. I currently am getting my birds conditioned for breeding..and can't wait to get started.
