The only thing with doing them in the nest is the manufactures say you must use it all when opened not use at a later date so unless you can get all your birds the same age you would have a lot waste ..
Brought a few in the van rijns yearling hen won a race by 70 yds but it was a blow home lol and my best 2ybs are of the same pair so looking forward to getting them down road a bit.
Have to agree was well run no nonsense by auctioneer my only gripe was not nearly enough sale lists but that aside can I compliment the breeders of a terrific standard of yb in the pens , lot 1 was superb but am happy with lot 3 which has 8 top nat tickets plus a 1st open tours and 2 international positions in top twenty in its g/parents all for £85 well chuffed .
Done ok in club but failed in my target in fed due to not training enough only one ticket in the nationals due mostly to losing my candidates in training and then lost my best hen at Maidstone so I would give it 5/10 season.
And good on him too and hope he does but as some have posted when you have lived in the east coast and see the advantage they have down there it almost borders on the unfair , also flying with the unc his ybs have possibly flew 3 races over 200 mms before the yb nat where my fed the midland s last race was 165 mls !!
You are deluded if you think this ex west member is so far in front of fellow members in his area , it was a yb race when he has won 7or8 500mls races then call him a super hero like Peter virtue / Norman Renton walker and Wilson to name just a few . He can win twenty yb nat but that will never make him in the top league . This is no dig at the fancier as I don't know him but the *expletive removed* licking brigade are going over the top just because he came from the west and yes I now live and race in the west . Lets just get on with it we either send or we don't end of .
Pass your lofts every day on the way to work , have you put the new one on the other side of garden ? Never got a good look this morning . Looks fantastic .
Well done to the winner but really should the one loft race be allowed in the nat as it has taken most of the money out of the race also they had almost 100 birds in the race going to that area I think ! But we'll done anyway .also great flying Delboy top dog again and John Houston timing 5/6.
Hi Owen You are obviously a very talented and knowledgable fancier and would love to try your systems on celibate but here in Scotland I think the hens would be wasted on this system as we get a lot of differing conditions on race days also me personally am aiming at our distance racing and my position in the west section is very difficult for the birds , I am not saying the celibate won't work but 9/10 would be natural I think . And I agree there are no strains anymore if ever but we all use them as a guide I think .
Sorry it's not the jan Arden that are big but some of the others I have , but I agree the smaller ones seem to be better in the long races , I have the brokamps and southwells and theyare on the small side .
I have a g/son de Barcelona that has bred 3rd open bovington & my 2 nd sect Maidstone last year and have others jan ardent from Peter virtue but early days for them . Have also spent a lot on some real duffers but slowly getting there although everybody through here tells me my birds are too big to win !!.
