which pigeon would you say is the best ever bred?
chichichi replied to holmsidelofts's topic in Breeding, Strains & Families
ETS will stop the multiple firsts by the same bird.. when a top loft has 3 together they always catch the fav first.. once that bird has many firsts to his name they keep on catching him first if it is in the first bunch,, ETS takes this away,, first in gets the card.. so the 30 and 40 x 1sts will be less as I know many including us catch the fav bird first.. ant -

The new sensations are the de meyer birds.. they are serious upto 200 miles.. kevin head just sold his for £38000.. jason hulse raced them also winning the fed week in week out.. we tried 4 last year they bred 4 birds and these were very good and liked the terrain.. they held up against the van reets,, so 2010 will see around 10 young ones being raced,, so time will tell for sure,, but looking bright.. ant

the de meyers are full of lambrects,, they all swapped birds over there,, jan hugbrets,, lambrect and de meyer,, them strains are in each of the lofts.. kevin head had a load of de meyers for sale next sunday the 9th,, full of lambrects... we have the de meyers here and lambrects in every one of them,, the midlands feds have been won many times by the lambrect strain,, we have had 4 young to race this year into wales and they have done very well.. ant

gareth can you write down the procedure for continuous clocking for the tauris,, all the systems on the 2nd day just plug into the pads.. does the tauris just plug into the pad and clock.. as A member did this last week and no arrivals were recorded.. another tauris question,, what happens if no time signal is recieved.. on tauris the birds are basketted before the signal is got.. tauris is very good it does what it says on the tin,, but the clock is big compared to the others.. and my mate just plugged his in for the 2nd days clocking and nothing clocked,, a rep has told me he has to initiate the clocking procedure,, they all do the same thing ...but they do not all mark each others clocks,, they are all guilty and I hope the rpra crack down on them in 2010.. best of luck to all ,, lets hope they all reduce their prices.. ant

ets will not get the birds home any quicker,, what it does is stop the young ones becoming trap shy and its great to see the birds have no fear when coming back.. listening for the bleep is also very nearve racking.. best of luck what ever system you get,, but learn the system inside out.. get your systems in the close season and use them over the winter.. play with them and learn to overcome any problems,, ant
-
200 to 300 quid will but you most of the systems at a basic level.. the problem is you can only use a very small pad with these systems,, its ok If you fly to a single loft with a small hole for an entry.. most people who fly to a sputnick will need a pad of 18" and the wider 28" for the 6 hole sputnick.. best of luck ant

I use bricon and run tauris,,unikon,,bricon and benzing M1,, the 2 best ones are bricon and unikon,, tauris is huge and you have to press things before it will clock in.. all the others just plug in.. also the tauris only prints 1 copy at a time all the others can do the desired amount without going back into the clock.. tauris - huge and needs you to press buttons to clock and lots of buttons to press to basket also.. benzing M1 - very good but back up service is rubbish,, very expensive also.. unikon - very good,, but every year they need a few updates,, pocket clock will only work with unikon master,, bricon - very good,, also needs an update each year.. the prices for them all are massive,, these systems should be much cheaper.. If you are choosing between tauris and unikon ,, unikon will win everytime,, but bricon is just as good .. best of luck ant
