maples and tares.. you can get small maris bead beans,, very hard to get hold of but the same size as a maple pea.. or just buy protein powder off the net .. or wait until holland and barret are half price.. vanilla is ok.. lol.. best of luck ant

you can't ,, darkness is the only way to get them to hold their flight for aug and sept.. lots think if they breed early enough they are natural darkness,, well this is a fad,, they will moult and be in bits by june or july.. darkness first round natural 2nd round,, thats what a lot do.. best of luck ant

I agree and love to see the fancy birds,, another problem would be they look very different,, tumblers from the ones with feathered feet.. I think it would be hard to judge on a level playing field,, some look very skinny with big whattles,, other look like peancock with huge feathers,, at the shows they all stay together in breed,, so the judging would be not for the faint hearted.. I agree though we should highlight all the birds in shows.. and as its for fun every thing should be shown.. but time and work is the problem i think.. lots will pair up soon and we normally have the shows before this.. but a pairs show is also a good idea,, pair your birds up and take a pic of the 2 in the box.. best of luck and its nice to see us talking about shows coming back on here,, they were excellent when they last did them.. ant

The problem that would arise for a fancy class would be numbers,, I would expect 90% of members on here to own racing or show pigeons,, I also expect about 10 to 20% will have fancy birds.. so if only a couple per member you could have a class with very few entries.. by picking what everyone has you can guarentee a big class .. jmo.. I always love to look at the fancy birds at the big shows.. but i think you would struggle to get a good amount of photos sent in.. but if you wanted why not do a poll to see what the membership wants regarding a show and what classes.. simple then,, best of luck ant

I think if a show is to be run there must be an independat judge .. the pictures get posted on a thread and then the judge looks them over and messages the mod in charge and the winners are posted.. you can all have your say regarding what you think should win,, but the judge picks the winners.. All entries should be emailed to a mod or admin and they then load them from their photobucket account.. As long as you select a good judge you will be ok.. so select a top fancier or showman to select the winners.. classes could be ,, old bird,, young bird,, show bird,, coloured bird,, final.. best of luck ant

Right I will go into the swap.. but have a strange swap..lol.. I can do a pair of april bred young birds. I will try for very early april with a bit of luck it will be end of march.. but in return I want a pair for the distance in june or july.. so 1 pair of sprinters ,, late march or early april from the stock loft.. van reets I expect half siblings to fed winners. might be from the chicken, bred 2 x 1st fed.. for 1 pair of distance young from proven 500 mile plus birds. june or july only.. these will be trained in 2010 only.. hope this is ok for this comp.. ant

we catch ours 40 mins before the show and clean the ring,, thats it,, taking part is the most important thing..lol.. only entered 4 shows so far due to feeling unwell.. but won 1 x 1st.. lol.. phil I might be up later with my herman,, is it a handling class or through the wires.. she is out every day,, so not sure what condition she is in now.. ant

I feel south is the way forward for all.. jmo.. what we are seeing is the combine and WNRF going more south every year.. before long they will all be south.. lots fly both routes now as they can race the east upto the channel and the south then for saturday racing.. but we should all be together be it south or south east.. 15000 birds at the first channel race would demand respect from any other orgs liberating,, classing would be very rare then.. you never know 10,000 from a 400 mile race.. like the old thurso days.. :) now that would be nice.. 10,000 welsh birds in a blue ribbon event.. who knows what the future holds.. lets hope for a christmas truce between all the organisations.. ant

1 bird made a big price.. not going to say on here how much,, the buyers wife mightbe watching..lmao.. ant
-
never say never..lol.. If enough vote with their feet the feds will have to go south.. What we need is one massive combine,, racing in every channel race only.. start at lessay and have 5 or 6 channel races.. That would be a huge convoy of birds all coming into wales.. :) :) you could even include an international aswell for the die hard distance men.. ant

Are the welsh north road still racing on that route,, or are they going more south.. will we get a big combine again..time will tell.. ant
-
no belgium phil.. lol.. but we will all see soon.. very tough choice to make.. Friday also,, could upset a few,, lots want saturday racing,, work has to come first.. ant

birds look very nice indeed.. One thing I didn't like was the prices.. :) birds made a few quid today,, but the qualitity was there to be seen.. lovely blues.. ant
-
I have heard they have been picked and they are racing most of them on friday now.. but can anyone shed any light on race points.. Is the combine sticking to the east route through belgium or going a little lower down for 2010.. thanks ant

stan eddie has super ones,,thats for sure,, we have tried them and won with them,, but with only 1 or 2 percy soon gets them.. we only have an old warrior here now.. he will be 14 next year ,, he topped the fed as a young one,, topped the fed as yearling and then topped the fed as a 2 year old.. not many birds have done that.. eddie has bred us serious birds and we have a wildermeesch from him that has bred 4 x 1st in 2009.. ant

I have an old busscheart cock here,, 13 years old and fills every egg,, he is paired to a schaille janssen hen and breeds very good birds every year.. we still have 3 left from 4 bred last year.. If he is still filling I could sort you a pair in late april.. the busscheart cock has topped the fed 3 times on the north road in the late 90's .He is from the firefly lines... the hen is always stock.. best of luck in your search ant

all our pieds get taken first by the peregrin.. what they say is whatever stands out of the batch.. so if you had 20 white birds and a black one the peregrin can lock onto the black better.. with us we get a few pieds every year and these normally get hit by percy.. best of luck ant

I remember having shows on here and it was very good until cheating came into play,, the only way to do a show is to get an independant judge to pick the winners.. some shows are held and voted by members,, this then allows cheating or voting for a friend.. all you need to do is select a judge for each class and then get the members to submit their pics.. admin were very upset last time due to members re regestering and voting for their own photos many times.. best of luck ant

I should be there.. bright yellow fleece on..lol.. say hi.. ant
