What would you change for the forth coming 2011 season? only 1 change for 2011,, racing celibate hens as we did in 2009,, everything else the same.. What worked well for you, and why, in 2010? young birds excelled themselves,, we tweaked their feed and they hung in there right to the end,, What, if anything was a disaster in 2010 for you? we had 2 very bad portland races ,, losing our latebred distance birds,, we lost 20 in 2 races from there and these races were their 7th or 8th of the year,, All the work put in was undone,, but we live and learn,, happy new year ant

there are 2 clubs in penywaun ,both based at the same headquarters , 1 club flys with the welsh north road fed,, the other flys with the rhondda valley fed, None of these clubs fly south,, charlie williams is the sec of the WNR club,, I think brian williams is the sec of the rhondda club.. No south club at Penywaun,, they might have flew south many years ago.. ant

wood worker.. play with wood all day making memorial benches and things..lol.. work with Oak and iroko mainly.. play on planner,,spindle moulder,,mortice,,tennoner,,band saw and every machine for wood working,, good job and free wood.. ant

Try to get what the others in your club have,, you should get any system for under £300.. It all depends how many entrances you have,, this is what adds up.. the more traps you have the more expensive it,, this is for the same time trapping,, you can move pads between lofts.. Rings are going up every year and this will be the biggest drain on anyone with ets,, best of luck ant

Mr and MRs turner have a super line of van reets,, winning in 2010 and for the past 10 years.. Van reets are the best birds we have ever owned they are responsible for over 20 x 1st feds here.. crossed and pure they race their hearts out every week,, They win from 50 to 350 miles.. ours struggle after 350 miles.. but crossed they get more.. best of luck ant

It all depneds what you want from them,, we will race all this years early bred young birds on widowhood or celibate,, but we also have 53 young latebred in training now.. these will be raced natural next year to educate them for 2 year old racing,, I would say if they are for distance racing take it easy on them and keep them for 2 year old and older.. if sprinting go for it..yearlings will win nationals at sprint to middle.. and keep coming every week,, ant

I will say the 4 or 5 second difference is for races set on wednesday for a sat race,, but I have them here in front of me,, 3 seconds for a thursday set and a sunday read out,, the M1 is the most expensive system on the market but I will say it is all down to the weather,, the worst variation is on hot days.. ant

you can't round times up or down,, the time given is the second the bird was clocked,, I run benzing for my club and we have the M1 ,, this clock does the race point,, the G2 only prints race 1, race 2 and so on,, what happens when you get to race 15 of the season,, ets should only show the second clocked,, benzing do show the decimal but we have a couple of benzing M1 clocks whish gain upto 5 seconds for a long race that should never happen also.. ant

The problem is with the result software,, they do not allow you to add tenths,, but bricon,,unikon do not show tenths,, benzing do show tenths but the G2 does not even show the race point,, I think all ets systems should have the race point printed out as a rule.. to write a race point onto a maarking sheet is wrong,, what happens if you write the wrong one down or forget to write it in,, ant

The bird is back home and has settled in ready for the moult.. she is bred from our best here and she will be raced next year on the celibate system,, many many thanks.. keep in touch,, I will see what I can do for you in 2011.. this was her first mistake and was lost in a very tough carentan race with returns under 50% .. she had 9 races before that race and was always well up int he result.. ant
