why not introduce a rule stating when trap is closed the bird can't clock,, solves all problems,, so trap has to be opened for a bird to clock.. Once all are on ets there will be no advantage,, stall trap and old gent clocking on his own now is a massive advantage to the youngster on a stall trap.. there has always been an advantage for clocking,, ets makes it a level playing field for all on it.. best of luck to all ant

Richard the bird you should be referring to is the goshawk these are doing terrible damage down here in the valleys.. they were unheard of 5 years ago.. 2 authorities started a breeding programme and now they are going out of control.. they kill everything,, last week a friend witnessed a goshawk killing and eating a heron,, they will kill every thing upto a heron,, they are a killing machine which will be the downfall of racing pigeons if not controlled.. there are many thousands of pairs breeding now.. welldone richard,, ant

I run the benzing in our club and I can't assign any ring to the benzing, only benzing rings can be used by the fancier with a benzing system,, there are a number who wanted to use bricon rings on their benzing in 2009. They work in test mode but do not assign in the Pidexx,, so only a benzing ring can be used in training and race mode using a M1 benzing system,, the M1 is the expensive one.. as far as I know only the system rings will work on each system except for mega,, mega accept every ring for assignment and use.. ant
-
I have tried to register bricon rings on a benzing,, but no joy,, you can only assign benzing rings to a benzing clock,, That is the M1 I tried.. The RPRA need to force the ets companys to allow and system ring for assignment,, this will then lower the price.. best of luck ant

Neil totally agree,, Can't imagine why people would do it.. I do not have the rings here,, Maybe someone could do some research and try to do it ,, If someone wants to send me a ring I will try.. I will video my atempts for you all to see.. This will only affect 2010 rings,, 2011 will have metal inserts in.. message me if anyone wants to send me a ring for me to try it out.. ant
-
Neil some will do anything to get an edge,, 20 - 30 yearling widowhood cocks rung with young bird rings could do some damage in young bird racing,, Some will always try to beat the rules,, or bend them,, Many have been caught in the past.. ant
-
Bluey I think the ring in the video is cold.. but who knows.. all the video shows is that plastic rings can be stretched ,, if heat is then applied again while on the leg could it be shrunk with out visual signs of tampering,, who knows?? the debate will go on and on.. ant
-
I know that ,, but expect the rings are made of the same stuff,, ant
-
Here is a video put on youtube last year,, I think they were trying to prove the rings couldn't be shrunk after making them bigger,, I think with a little more experimenting they could heat the ring up and then get it on tight and then re heat and clamp it back to a size that it started from,, the vidoe shows the rings can be made bigger,, I expect you could also re heat and shrink with the right tools.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl6F1FJ6HNo what are your thoughts on this.. ant

ETS is good for the fancier and the pigeon,, but until everyone has it there will be arguing.. the RPRA should sort all these price rises in rings,, madness that a small ring can cost £1.30.. they will keep going up .. I have bricon and they are still £1.10 for 2010.. so saves me a little on the other systems,, but £1.10 is still too high.. We have elderly fanciers in our club who can clock the same speed as the younger ones,, can't get fairer than that.. best of luck ant
-
lmao.. phil we are RPRA racing now,, Training only for the east route..lol.. keeps them on line.. ;) ant
-
gaz birds look super as always.. best of luck for 2010.. ant
-
none, ;D ;D ;D :P . boys been arguing down club over it..lmao.. doesn't make a difference to us,, but oldman gets asked all the questions as he is sec,, I expect they will allow them for 2010 as many have been over and bought birds.. You would be surprised how many go over and buy for young bird racing,, 2011 will be back to the normal though.. This year the welsh are getting a good deal with all the others not wanting them to race.. so they can get a good deal for them at lier.. Time will tell what happens,, but can't see them banning them for racing,, so it will only really affect 2010.. best of luck ant
-
Agree phill all rings with out metal inserts do not comply with FCI standard.. A bloke in the know is saying they are not allowed,, but I do not think the WHPU has ruled against them,, The problem is people have bought these with no ban in place so they will have to let them go for 2010.. best of luck ant
-
Tom how has ETS come into this thread,, ETS is secure,, belgian rings are not.. they can be manipulated with heat,, thats a fact,, Tom these rings are being withdrawn for a reason,, The reason is they can be manipulated,, they do not comply with the FCI standard in 2010.. this is the reason for the 2011 change.. best of luck ant
-
Phil I thought the union decided if they were allowed or not.. lots of boys were asking in the meeting and one of the ponty boys said they were not allowed.. I expect the oldman will ring tomorrow.. he should have asked today when he phoned..lol.. ant
-
Are the welsh homing union allowing 2010 rings from belgium to race.. the RPRA and NEHU have stopped these being used ,, Has anyone asked the WHPU,, Members in the club are asking as many trips are going over soon.. ant
