  1. what is there to hide I ran the SNFC marking station as a SNFC commitee member, the commitee members for three clubs that now use the kilbarchan club room can organise a marking station for the SNRPC or not as they see fit, as Im not on the commitee its nothing to do with me and couldnt care less, guys like you like to stir it up thats the sad side of our sport, its now clear that you didn't hear any of this from anyone but made it up yourself. As I said its nothing to do with me and ive nothing to hide "hammyman" Im Robert Morris who are you, and who is hiding?
  2. All Right Garath how you doing, The Kilbarchan marking was only allowed to work if it was at no cost to the SNFC and we and other dedicate members shared in the running costs of hiring the hall and buying Fish suppers for the marking team, Liam the clock setter donated the clock money to the highest velocity bird at the marking station every race. anyway I will be glad to help at uddingstone, see you there.
  3. If there was a marking station for the SNPRC then it would be nothing to do with me or my brother, you still havent said who told you all this info? to elaborate on what has been said, the Kilbarchan club used to convoy with balochmyle who fly the SNFC program which made there club room available for SNFC marking but now they fly with Glasow Fed and there program takes in the SNRPC program so if they decide to have a marking station there its nothing to do with us, but we cant run one for the SNFC on the same night.
  4. who did you hear this from, as it is a load of cr@p Robert Morris
  5. Your right there Del the club house will be used for the club and fed marking on the same night with the other national so it wasnt possible to mark there, and it was certainly not because we favoured the other nat, we have nothing against the SNPRC but are SNFC through and through,I don't know who started this Bullsh@ite story no wander nobody wants to be on the committee or take responsibility with this cr@p going about.
  6. it looks like a lot of yearlings are missing, were they raced young birds ? Also there is always a lot of different feds around the newcastle / bishop auckland area so I think some clashing may have gone on. P.S. Im waiting on 4 from 25 1 latebred 2 raced yearlings and 1 raced 2year old latebred.not had a bird since about an hour and a half from time in!
  7. couldnt agree more any stale air will lie in the apex, venting the sides will allow air to rise and exit at the top of the loft, other than that the loft has plenty of venting maybe even too much depending on the way the loft is facing and the prevailing wind.
  8. good feed in morning and a light feed in the afternoon
  9. right now just as racing is about to start, they should be slimmer/lighter/leaner than when breeding, (but not too light or thin)the skin on the breast should be pink and ideally all the flaky skin gone although you may have the odd bird with a small amount to shed, you should have a nice covering of small downy feathers on the dropping in the morning, perfect.
  10. boyancy, the bird should feel big and full bodied in the hand and suprisingly weightless, move your finger tips just off the side of the keel feel the muscle defenition it should feel almost like an inner tube of a bike tyre, swollen soft and if pressed gently it should spring back.nice pink skin and your laffin, perfect.
  11. we used this material for the front of our young bird loft about 10 years ago and its still ok. we used four large sheets butted together and nailed a 2" wide strip of thin ply wood over the joins to seal all the edges, this has worked well.
  12. Im with you on this one Delboy
  13. I understand were your coming from, as you say you dont need a piece of paper to show if a birds any good or not. a pedigree does contain all the performances and ring numbers etc... but it more importantly contains the family tree, the gene pool, the blood you are intrestred in, so you dont need a pedigree to see fancy performances but you do need to know the blood line of the bird, but if you go straight to the source and trust them then the pedigree is not required just trust in a good fancier with good birds.
  14. you say your not intrested in the pedigree's but who they are off of, who they are off of is what makes a pedigree? anyway every loft has birds that handle well and most birds at shows handle well but most wouldnt race well or breed good racers, so my choice is pedigree 1st then handling, but you need to trust who your buying from remeber a bird from winning genes is a bird with a pedigree.
  15. great news well done to all PB members who voted.
  16. Hi Gareth, just voted there, didn't know your son was autistic, my brother david's son is also autistic, hope all this voting helps mate.
  17. I would like to see everone all together again and personally I don't care if other organisations were allowed to fly in the SNFC such as RPRA etc.. A problem that I don't hear anybody talking about is race measurments ? As everyone knows SHU & RPRA measurments are different so even if RPRA members were allowed to fly in the SNFC they would need to join the SHU for there measurments as we couldn't have members sourcing measurments from different sources especially if they could be different!
  18. The question is still, does the SNFC need its own transporter? With the current race program we are using 3 transporters for the inland races, if we bought a new transporter there would be an argument about who's birds are on it and who's arent? If we got a large one it woudnt be practical for the channel races so there lies another issue with buying a new transporter. one thing is for sure every year the balance is going down and transporters are getting more expensive I think this is what is driving the issue before the money is gone. What about a second hand one?
  19. Second that Del one of the best in the west in my opinion, good to hear hes doing well.
  20. There is a lot of confusion about this subject and most lay-man couldn't even pronounce some of the names of these products nevermind figure out how to use them.(not that they would want to) But one of the problems for me is when we buy pigeon products from shows or off the internet or whatever we trust that they are safe and legal for our birds but don't really know or think about illegal drugs. It would be a travisty if a top fancier was positivly tested and disaplined when he never even knew he was taking illegal drugs. The point Im trying to make is we need to approach this whole subject very thoughrerly and make sure all piegon products are safe and fanciers know exactly what they can and can't use, then there would be no mistaking the abusers, and we could throw the book at them with absolute certainty of the crime.
  21. If it's to the benifit of the birds and the fed members then I'm sure members would demand the internet be used and get "up to speed" with other feds who would be getting the benifit from a dedicated liberation web site. We have to start somewhere and after a couple of seasons most if not all feds would log onto it as the information would be so important it would be criminal not to use it.
  22. Back to the problem of clashing and todays technology, I can time a bird from the National and post it on PB and the whole contry knows about it in minutes, this should be they way forward for race controlling either a dedicated web site or even on the PB foram, if all the race controllers were to update on a web site a picture would build up of the current real time situation reguarding all the feds without all the phone calls and cost, a controller would see that a fed was not liberating before 09:00 and another has went at 08:30 and so on. This should be the way Forward the SHU & RPRA and all the other unions should get toghether and create a dedicated web site for this purpose.
  23. I agree we have too many races at the moment and I would like to see federations taking control of races out to 300+ miles, but I think it would be hard to get the vote to drop them in the Nationals. The purpose of the inland races was to encourage new members and to prepare birds for the channel giving higher birdage across the water, but this has not happened the birdage is down and its been counter productive. The problem with the Inland Nationals is the high losses which are damaging the 500+ races. Taking things a bit further,as most feds in scotland are down around Leicester on the last sat in May I would like to see some co-operation throughout scotland and see all the West birds liberated together and the same for all the East birds, this could then be done from an agreed race point at around 350 miles, Then the National's can organise there own Program's
  24. What about this for a SNFC program 1 1st week in June Inland race 2 weeks later 2 3rd week in June Ypres 2 weeks later 3 1st week in July Gold cup 1 week later 4 2nd week July Longest race 1 week later 5 3rd week July Clermont (or similar)
  25. Your birds should be fine, if as you say they usually beat you home then I think they will be ok, remember as soon as you start to train young birds regularly they tend not to fly as much as they used to before training,if you want to keep them flying around the loft cut back on the training and train maybe once a week inbetween races short tosses and they will start to build up the time around the loft again. Good Luck for your 1st race
