  1. i would have thought if your way out to the east that's a good thing considering most of our winds come from the west. given the choice i'd rather be to the east than to the west.
  2. hi, before i start i'd thought i'd mention i use a t3 and it don't stop me winning. ets will not make your birds any faster or slower, the buzz is actually getting a bird, clocking can be an anxious time for many(how many people have dropped a rubber or not put it in the thimble propely and it won't fit in the chamber) and the birds get to know this also, ets elminates this anxiety and makes the birds feel safe to enter the loft. also a lot of older pigeon fancier's struggle to get about so it helps in that position. it also takes away a lot of the paperwork at basketing night. i'm not totaly blinded by it though and i realise it could be upseting to some people when you have fancier's turning up with 30/40 birds clocked, and it can happen and will. this is the only problem i see. if you can't win without ets you won't win with it.

stu, do/did they fly mike youngs birds?
  4. i've got a copy here, but i need it. but if there's a phone number or anything you need from it just ask. ps but i'm not typing the whole book out lol.
  5. we have buzzards here all the time 2 or 3 at a time sometimes, never had a problem. i thought buzzards main food was rabbits. we also have kites here to and they are no bother to the birds, we also have the ones who do bother the birds, they're the ones to worry about.
  6. be able to pick 1 up in blackpool if your going.
  7. best bird i've seen is the padfields red cock, scored 8th newnorthroad fed from newton grange on the north switched south and won 1st,3rd,23rd+39th national pau. they even sent him back after winning the national.
  8. i've never payed any attention to it,although i have heared it mentioned before. but i know when the sun and the moon are in line it create's more magnet pull on the earth,if you believe that magnatism is the main source of direction finding i can see why they would dislike it. it could be coincidental and hawk had a go at the birds or they got caught up in other birds . i would have thought the birds would know what it is because it happens quite often.
  9. i'm not sure paul, i only see andrew now when i go up his club for nat. marking on the east route. and i only sent to 2 of those last year.
  10. how do they do for your mate?. they had a bit of bad luck a couple of years ago, a fox got in their loft and killed a load.
  11. that's tough one... i'd say andrew mcfenton is a top flyer allround. i fly south now so i don't see at lot of them's results as they're mostly on the east route . bath+owen from townhill were quite prolific on the inland races. there's a lot of good fancier's who i apolagise for not mentioning but they were 2 that i remember stood out.
  12. never mind paul, we all make em , me more than most lol

  19. a couple of years ago dai davies from neath in south wales had a clearence sale, one of the main pigeons in the sale was a blue hen that had scored 117th+46th national pau and 16th national dax. a guy called jamieson from scotland bought her for £1,400. i wonder how her children are doing?
  20. how is this run? are you saying that anybody can buy the birds race them in their own clubs where ever that may be and somebody will pick which they think is the best?.
  21. we keep around 40 old birds on roundabout although we only send about 8-10 on average to a race(some weekends we might have 2 or 3 races) and around 40 ybs all kept natural.
