  1. low row is almost on the west route it lies between brampton and haltwhistle
  2. the way I see things pigeon men need to start thinking of the pigeons and not what advantage they can gain through overfly this is the biggest problem imo advantage advantage advantage berore thinking about the welfare of the pigeons . we in midlothian flew the west route with our youngbirds in 2011 and had good raceing and returns but when it came to the agm the boys that were losing there advantage with overfly voted to get the birds back down the east and a lot of these guys that voted for that route couldnt even finish the youngbird program because of losses but they still want to go back down east route next year . as I have said its time to put the welfare of the birds first before advantage of overfly
  3. cheers was going to come over but was night shift last night
  4. what was the prices
  5. its good to talk
  6. its only a bit of banter lads at the end of the day the pigeons still have to be there to be clocked
  7. the ets pads are part of the clocking system and should be sealed in place us that use manual clocks have to have our clocks sealed otherwise you are disqualified you have got to remove rubber ring put it in thimble unless you are using a thimbless clock so ets has a very unfair advantage ( think I will have to get one and have about six pads on loft roof that way I could time 20 all at same time)
  8. all clocking systems have rules if ets does not have rules then it should not be getting used and should be banned so fanciers could be sitting pads on loft roof if they wanted so this could be intepritated as cheating
  9. pads should be put in place at start of season and sealed in that place so that they cannot be moved that used to be a shu rule but dont know if it still enforced but should be
  10. take it lanarkshire has £200000 in bank ??
  11. Reims gives the birds a shorter crossing across the channel
  12. one other thing brian I proposed last year for every member to pay £150 with free birdage all races except open races which would be 50p this was working out that if you sent over 300 birds in the season old and young birds then you were saving money but got thrown out as members did not relise that they were going to save money olso it gave the fed the money up front to run the fed
  13. brian the best thing to do is put your ideas to yor members at meeting and get them put forward as proposals for agm that is my advice there is no harm in trying then it is up to the members at agm whether they want it or not as I have said you cannot force people to pool there pigeons as in the present climate we are in in people are finding it hard just to keep in the sport
  14. brian at the end of the day they are flying for pool money if a member cant afford to pool his pigeons then he cant pool them If you wanted you could have open pools every week in the fed but who would pool in them just like when evelyn put out feed back forms for 2 bird club and what happened 2 clubs showed interest if you want to try to fly for big pools then you should go and try the other fed they will take your money okay but the position you lie in I dont think you would see much return
  15. brian if you want to do away with ferrying fee that is your choice you just ferry your pigeons to the transporter but work it out as all it is costing each member to have there birds picked up is approx £1.50 per week if you can get someone to ferry your birds in cheaper than this then good on you but I think you will find it hard
  16. brian if members wont partipate in things the fed try to run to bring income into fed like breeder buyer sales late bred sales christmas raffle then how can we bring the cost down if the members particapate in these things then we could possibly bring the cost down . what ideas have you got I await in anticapation ??
  17. brian how do get that midlothian is expensive to fly in??
  18. gary if you make it £10 a ring and flown from last young bird race I dont think you will get many takers better £5 a ring and fly for it as I said either from the 3rd / or 2nd last race as how many go to the last race jmo
  19. you propose it gary I will second it £5 a ring no limit to be flowm either the 3rd last or 2nd last young bird race 2 prizes split 60/40 what do you think??
  20. quill mites
  21. think it was over £1200 brian suppose better than nothing it all helps at the end of the day
  22. I would just like to thank everyone who donated to the sale and all those that attended a pity more of our own members had taken the time to attend the sale at the end of the day it is to help the federation and members should try and support the federation
