Once they are on there 5th do they not start losing cover feathers also?

I know many who brought plenty home last year and did not have an issue with illness. You can buy pigeons from anywhere and bring illness into your loft just your luck. Maybe more expierenced fanciers can pick out healthy youngsters. Not saying it wasn't the market pigeons but it's the easiest option to blame them

Once you have bred your youngsters when do you look to have your cocks and hens split for racing? If you fly roundabout widowhood etc??

Well had them all out today bathed and in enjoyed seeing them out flying about most went in for a bath with ice flooting in it tough wee fekkers

First off all take a breath and do one thing at a time mate, your shed if you plan for 15 pigeons personally I would have 20 perches. You can make box perches if you like or even just use the plastic v perches pretty cost effective and quick to get you small shed ready for young birds. Once you get your young birds in there they will trap to anything mate just get the pigeons into a routine and stick to it then you can adjust the feeding if you need more control off the pigeons. You will get racing youngbirds this year but just worry about getting your loft ready and getting some pigeons in it first off all. After the season then look to what's the plan for next

Got 60 rings was gonny take 60 but i'm in danger of getting way ahead of myself in terms of what i can handle so maybe just take 30-40 and thatll do

You will probably find there is a training trailor in your area that could take your pigeons for you at a cost or even better take the kids away for the day or wherever you take them train your pigeons aswell
