  1. Martin and Stevie D have summed it up but try some wheat germ oil on his feedin Alan. its rich in vitamin E which is known as the fertility vitamin This is a small extract from a passage on vitamin E. "Vitamin E was discovered in 1922 with experiments on rats. When fed a purified diet devoid of vitamin E, the rats became infertile. Wheat germ oil added to their diet restored their fertility" I dinnae really have a lot of right old doos but I've visited a loft who seemed to be able to get cocks to breed right up to 16 and 17 and hens to 12 and 13.He swore by wheat germ oil. If it does no good it'll no do any harm JAM beat me to it

  10. She was a latebred 1990 pigeon. But it just shows how at certain times of year folk will put old rings on the doos
  11. De Lorna?
  12. Was the house named after the doo or the doo named after the house?
  13. Maybe if you say to Stevie he'll suggest this name to his uncle Jimmy it rolls off the tongue
  14. Aye Tam is a top class dooman at the distance, must have great confidence in that hen.Single entry at Eastbourne and one of two for Clermont
  15. 2 Honeymans Dream
  16. Anybody notice the 12 year old hen that popped up in some of the SNFC results last season? Will have to ask Tam how he breeds such longevity into his pigeons
  17. Aye the Jock Allan "No Surrender" was some tool one of his many Will find out the age McLean's "No Surrender" was when it won Rennes but I think I've picked it up wrong.Cannae see it being ten when it won Rennes even though it was a very stiff race and at a time when folk seemed to be scoring well with older doos.
  18. I've a clubmate who'll be able to tell me the age it was when it won Rennes, think am getting mixed up though with 10. Only really know about it as there was a picture of it in the Avonbrig pub for years.Willie McLean raced to Standburn originally but moved to Dennyloandhead, this is where he flew when he won the Rennes race.
  19. Very true It won it in 1910 for Willie McLean dkj Know Jock Allan had a pigeon of the same name as well, albeit a few decades later
  20. Cannae find the Age of No Surrender when he won Rennes .It scored four times in the SNFC from 500 miles though 3rd and 8th open Granville,1st and 12th open Rennes. It also topped the NW fed from Bournemouth-the "Auld Reekie" of his day??
  21. Aye I'm struggling to think of one older than that flew over 500 miles. Got a feeling "No Surrender" may have been 10yr old when it won Rennes but I wouldnae put money on it. Probably getting mixed up
  22. "Cockpen Heatwave" was the name of the doo
  23. just checked and its just shy of 500 miles(496) back to the drawing board
