luck would play a big part when trying to breed winners from birds that haven't raced in two or three generations or more most of the top "strains" and "families" of birds are formed on the criteria of performance.With the birds not being raced in many generations this criteria is not there to select on so can only imagine the racing ability of the birds on the whole would deterioate.You may have luck on your side though
