Theres a conspiracy that the planes were remote controlled and that the Americans done it to themselves so they could wage a war on terror/secure future oil supplies As for Shergar I believe he was deed within a week of being stolen and is probably deep in a peat bog somewhere

A lot of old hand's stuff is maybe a bit dated and is perhaps not too relevant today but this is quite an interesting read on training youngsters http://www.pigeonbasics.org/articles/article125.html -

I went to a guys hut the other day and he had eagle owl noises blasting out a pair of speakers. He puts it on when the birds are out and said it keeps the hawks away. Can see how it'd maybe work,I was S***ting myself. I misunderstood him over the phone, the neighbours began to get a bit p***sed off when I had Hotel California on repeat whenever the doos were oot

Is it eagle owls that hunt by night and eat peregrines whilst on their nests??

North West Federation

Nice to see the boys on the West of the fed getting their turn as well -
The doos would have had more time on the wing and a night less in the basket if I took them to Glasgow this afternoon Its always nice to have a race though, even it was quicker than the last two weeks from Coldstream which is 20 miles closer to home Can't complain too much really-smashing returns and the doos were back out a couple of hours later as if it was a normal day

Northwest fed at Otterbutn-No word til after 10

Didn't see the exact birdage but some of the fanciers have come out the woodwork this week. Think Avonbridge will have just under 300 at Otterburn tomorrow. Hear theres quite a few feds there this weekend so we may need to wait our turn.Dinnae fancy going up first based on what was said about last years libs. Not sure it makes much difference to the peregrine mind you-its your luck of the draw.

I was told they had a hunting route and that they'd come by near enough the same time each day. Have to say I've found this to be a complete load of B***ocks. My doos are on an open loft and I've had visits here at all times of the day. Basically they come whenever doos are out and they fancy their chances.
