If all our birds had ever seen was a wicker basket then I would not want them going away to a race as important as a National in a Geraldy Transporter for the first time. May be part of the reason the National decided not to use them for this season. I know there was a vote the other year and it was only for one race but the fact it was defeated at the AGM. As someone else suggested it maybe be better discussed at AGM for future racing.

Would think the majority of the time that things would stay the same as you state as most of the time the President would use his casting vote for things to remain status quo, but having said that I'm sure someone will correct me

As someone stated earlier on here, "simples". Train yer bird tae fly dog-legs, n they will fly dog-legs. Train them tae fly straight lines, then maybe ye hae a chance, thousands o birds entered, only one can win Course ye can always move tae the coast n make it easy

Respect what you're saying there but I'm afraid if they've no been on a result then I'm sure we widnae be keepin them full stop, never mind for showing. If they cannae compete in racing then they're no good to us, that is the main reason we keep them. Showing them for us is for a bit of fun/ socialising but against birds of the same calibre, no against something that has been sitting getting pampered in a shed all year. Only my opinion of course

I heard that flown certificates mean nothing these days as anyone can get them signed, that's why I suggested that if your racer has been on a result then that at least shows it's a proven racer, as stated earlier, most clubs have a weekly result

I agree it should be something to look into, maybe if the racer has been on a result shows it has tried, rather than just accept a flown certificate
