Well said Andy, you appear to be one member who has actually took time to read and digest the Relevant posts on this topic. Before anyone says it, no we don't have a mutual admiration society going.

Race Programme Meeting
JohnQuinn replied to geordie1234's topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
The message to the officials from the members yesterday was quite resounding, that the members have total confidence in their top table and have supported us in the knowledge that we would not agree to anything, with anyone, that was detrimental to the Federation. As i said when opening the meeting, there is a lot of talking to be done before anything can be agreed and i dare say give and take too, to everyone's satisfaction, Anything other than that is doomed to fail before it gets off the ground, because the other potential Federation officials will not do anything detrimental to their Federation's interest's either. In saying that, in the large part the other Federation official's were very encouraging when i spoke with them, so i hope to maintain the mutual respect already established, and hope the members of the other Federations involved, give their own official's the same support and encouragement that our member's gave to us yesterday. Rest assured if the other Federation members do give that support, we will get this up and running. Faint Hearts Never won Fair maiden. -
Race Programme Meeting

Off topic posts removed. Please keep the thread for what it is intended for. Cheers John. -
If the judges are allowed to take the moult into consideration then i don't see a problem with the dates. First up Eye Sign, then the TTW classes next, taking it to the 10th of November before any doos are handled. So by the time the Handling classes are on the doos should be through the moult. Majority of mine are on their 8th or 9th flights at the moment due to early separation and my Yb's were raced natural so are all well forward in their moult too. Only the later bred doos are lagging behind with some still in the body moult. If time allows i will take a run through with some and give the guys an entry, it's also a chance to meet and chat with guys you either never meet, or only see once a year when the shows are on. Being Sociable i think it's called.

Any time George.

That is inaccurate, as is your statement that it was presented as a "hall" at the meeting where it was agreed to. I was at the meeting when it was touted as a marking station. It was clearly stated it was a greenhouse and that the "fancy pigeon" fanciers used it for their shows. Some of the SNFC officials went along to have a look as to its suitability and obviously thought it was a good idea because it was adopted as one. Davy Elliott WASN'T one of the men who went to inspect it either. Facts.

I think the rule is "any two independent fanciers" can witness vaccinations and sign it off for you. Atb for your racing next year.

The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Well Davy, i suggest you get together with the other Feds on your side of the country and get it up and running too, instead of looking to disrupt our intentions. "I wonder how the Lanarshire boys would feel if all the other Feds got together and left them out" That Question/Statement is bang out of order and its the type of thinking that holds our sport back and is probably why you's will never move forward. I am only speaking for Myself here, but if your Fed raced in the old West Section of the SNFC you could participate in this venture, with the Solway birds included it would IMO have no bearing whatsoever on the "pattern" of the race so for me excluding them would at best be folly and at worst discrimination, neither of which fall into the category of Friendship and Inclusion. JMO, NOT a statement of fact because as with every other aspect of this proposition it will be decided by the officials on behalf of their members. Atvb for now. John. This is my last contribution to the thread, now it's time to concentrate on getting this as far Forward as possible, as quickly as possible, to the benefit of all involved. John. -
The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Tam & Tommy. Tam and Tommy are neighbouring farmers, in the middle of the harvest Tommy's Combine Harvester broke down and he couldn't finish brining in his crop. Tam had just bought a brand new one and had finished his harvesting in jig time. Now Tam could see Tommy was having difficulties, however he didn't want to offer his Harvester to Tommy in case he thought he was being a show off and cause offence to his neighbour. Tommy on the other hand had thought to himself that he might be able to borrow Tam's new harvester to get his crops in and decided he would go and ask for a loan of it. Off he went walking across the fields to ask Tam, but on the way over he started doubting himself and his neighbour saying "bet this smart Git says no" and hunts me off his ground. He carried on anyway but the thought of rejection was growing in his mind with every step he took until he totally convinced himself that Tam was DEFINITELY gonna say no. ( Of course Tam was just waiting to be asked so he could help his neighbour) When Tommy got to Tam's door he knocked and Tam opened it, at which point Tommy blurted out "stick yer harvester where the sun don't shine" and promptly set off back across the fields. My question is this, are you a Tam or a Tommy?? Seems to me there are a lot of Tommy's now commenting on this thread, looking for all possible negative outcomes and difficulties in the implementation of this idea, so i would ask you to have more faith in your neighbours and trust that they will only offer the hand of Friendship because that's the only type of hands i have, and the other officials that i have managed to contact are all of the same mind. So please place your trust in YOUR officilas by giving them the authority to decide things on your behalf, (or to negotiate an outcome as near as possible to the members mandate) with the full knowledge that the other officials they meet with will all offer a hand of friendship and co-operation to them. ATVB, John. -
I imagine a lot will be awol Ian.

The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
We're not talking at all yet Steven, but imo, no it would not be confined to a Yb race. The idea is to organise IF POSSIBLE joint convoying, if all parties concerned are happy with how that goes then we can look at forming an Amalgamation. Neither do i like the term "semi national" and personally would not like to use the word National at all in regards to this idea, which is all it is at the moment. A lot of talking, compromise and good will has to be brought into it and if that can be achieved we might just be onto something with this. Cheers, John. -
Not to my knowledge George, and i widnae endorse one either. jmo.

Lanarkshire Federation
JohnQuinn replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Lanarkshire Federation and Club Results
I should have asked that if you intend coming to our night, please for the sake of getting numbers for catering, let us know for definite if you are coming. Sunday coming maybe the Monday (7th) would be the last minute so to speak. Looking like its gonna be a successful night and we wouldn't like to say "sorry too late" to anyone but when the numbers for the caterers goes in that will be it...... time. -
I totally agree with postal voting and have stated publicly (in Lanarkshire) that any Big decisions or controversial ones, should be decided by a postal vote, or by e-mail if that is what suits the individual member. We would then get a true reflection of the MAJORITY of fanciers opinions/wishes on the various subjects.

Still a meaningless exercise

The 6 Feds Idea On Snfc/snrpc Thread
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Would be difficult to include the NW when you's have almost disqualified yourselves by publicly slating the Geraldy Transporters and in particular the aluminium crates. 3 or 4 of the organisations who have expressed an interest use Geraldy transport, so say for example a channel race was put in place or a Coast race with under 3,000 birds at a future date, chances are they would be transported by a Geraldy transporter no matter who was doing the convoying. ?? -
Because every fancier gets a wee blip here and there, it disnae all of a sudden make them a bad fancier, so for my money John would be on ANY list that included the best fanciers in the SNFC and not just the South. jmo.

Aye it does seem to have gone off topic Derek, but having read the "on topic" posts i canny see John Hodgson's name anywhere. A man who's won 7 x 1st Open SNFC races and he disnae get a mention expletive remove!!! Its like all other threads on this subject, and there have been plenty of them, its meaningless. At least the Joint Convoying of Federations as a subject has some possibility of integrating the fancy in the west, a positive step forward for us, people's opinion on who's best here there or anywhere else is a load of ***** and is brought up year on year, sometimes more than once a year or season, it's totally meaningless hence my earlier "on topic" post does Not include who's best, only that i would love to see both organisations getting together again, because i have posted my opinion on "who's best" many times and as far as i know its made not an iota of difference to anyone. Just as the names put forward on this thread will make no difference to anyone, not now or at any other time. The man who started the topic is imo the man who should, if he chooses to, ask for all "off topic" posts to be transferred away from this thread to a more appropriate one, but he hasn't so he must be happy with the discussion that has developed on His Thread. Cheers, John.

Disappointed you would level that accusation against me Alan. The meeting was in Stenhousemuir last year and I was there working at the front door. If it was in Lerwick I would still go and help out if needed. The rules may say the committee choose the Venue but 4/5 years on the committee I was TOLD where it would be and was quite happy to go along with that, as I would be any other year at any other venue. ATB John.
