Kyleakin Lofts
Matthew, if you do get late-breds, then be careful with them. Treat them like YB's. Don't race them too far are keep a close eye on their feathering. They could throw three flights in the one week, for instance. Their feathers do not stand up to wet weather as well as older pigeons and they wear out. Hold them up to the light and watch for small holes, etc as the feathers deteriorate. After they have had a moult and have the experience of the careful racing, they will make good two year olds. Kyleakin Lofts
U may have changed Mathews mind, Andy.lol. You are sometimes able to pick up really well bred YB's for a very fair price from top fanciers at late-bred sales. A lot of fanciers don't want the bother of nursing them through, but if you take the chance and handle them carefully, with some luck, you can end up with really well bred two year old pigeons. Rick has just sent me a list of the donors so far, 19 ybs in total, could do with a few more so if any of our members are looking in please don't be shy, give Rick or myself a shout, raffles are always welcome too. I look forward to these sales, good chance to catch up and have a blether. Hope to see you there Matthew Ally
