Yes I tend to listen to too much crap spoken. I have also emphasised that the Bean is a complete food and please try and find where I have been positive in writing about such feed..I have even went to the point where if the tannin in the skin is poisonous why does the weevil exist !!. John Bosworth was the fancier who put me off feeding the Bean and I perhaps should have argued the point with him however I thought I had my peers in this game but now question my stupidity. I have also stated that my Beans are ordered and will be back on them as soon as possible..

I should have added that the farmer who used to supply me passed away and his sons turned the farm into a shooting estate, Their are Beans and Beans and his were the best.

Nowt much wrong with beans.

Just a matter of how much of them we need to feed. For instance how much of them during racing, rearing, moulting and in the off season after the moult.

Im always interested to hear how much beans fanciers feed especially in the build up to a channel race.

Hi mate

They have been hopper fed beans for about 3 /4 weeks always some in the hopper along with maize , I always send my cocks to the nationals feeding a big yb and driving or sitting second nest (if possible) it was Dave Delea told me forget the speed just up the feed for the 500+mls races , I also feed loads of peanuts . But there are many top fanciers on here who will do it totally different .

Ok Colin thats fair enough how u do it m8.

Used to feed more beans myself before, maybe i'll go back to feeding them a bit more than i have been these last 3/4 years.

Funny how them that make up the feed and sell it put lots of different carbs and all the different maize in the bag. Looks pretty all the different colours, but im not realy convinced. Prices rocketing up as well.

What do others think ?

In the old days beans were used extensively, The late Andrew Deans fed the BMW mix, beans maze & wheat, didn't do his birds any harm.

Thats good to know Jim.

As a matter of interest what are you feeding yourself Jim in the build up to these up coming channel races Jim ?

Or in your opinion what would be good feed for the channel ie what brands makes or brand no. Or how much % of beans, peas, maize, wheat etc.
