Has anyone every thought of testing the ph of the drinking water for the birds and what is the ideal ph level as with all the different water sources eg rain town water and bores

Water i use is out of the ground (bore hole) its been approved for humans to drink so be fine for birds i should imagine ? I font know its ph but But i use avidress in water daily so that knoks ph down alot , good post be intresting reading replys ,atb

I have used avidress for a year now I think its especially good for ybs, I would advise starting away giving it at half strength for a week or so the gradually increasing it to the recommended dose.

Anything which prevents the use or indeed cuts down the use of antibiotics is a step in the right direction.

Cheaper using Cider Vinegar, Does exactly the same by dropping the P.H. as scientists have proved that the beasties we dont want in the birds cannot survive in an acidic environment. 5 Ml - 1 Ltr. By the way a good slug of Vinegar in the Bath Water seems to dispense of feather lice as well. At least it has in mine.

Cheaper using Cider Vinegar, Does exactly the same by dropping the P.H. as scientists have proved that the beasties we dont want in the birds cannot survive in an acidic environment. 5 Ml - 1 Ltr. By the way a good slug of Vinegar in the Bath Water seems to dispense of feather lice as well. At least it has in mine.

 

I have around 4 gallons of homemade Cider Vinegar and have been wondering what to do with it, it's gawn in the bath water now :drinking-coffee-200:

It is cheaper i agree ,and does the same but no we're near as good! Avidress knoks the ph down alot more than acv and has more health benefits in its ingredients , so they say anyway , there was a thread no so long ago ( not sure wt site ) about the same thing , atb

use to no an old lad that had a 50 gall, drum that caught rain water he put builders lime in it, once it settled he gave to the birds, his doos were shining
