How Far On In The Moult Would You Send A Bird?

Hoping to go to a an OB race this weekend, and some of my birds are on their 4th flight. Would you still send them?

Thanks for the advice, I always worry that they throw the 5th one in the basket and leave too much of a gap.

One must remember also that when the flights are well down the bird has a lot more energy etc. - Like a lady about to give birth. Time of when a flight is three quarters the way up is best apparently.

The Primary and Secondary flights are less important than the cover flights, as it is they which give thrust and arrest air passing through the wing. Personally I dont send when they are missing.

To answer a couple of your questions, yes, the race is the BBC Bordeaux race this sat, 478miles to me.

Sent 8 in the end, so will see how they do.
