sandy1585
Larson traps need to be registered with your nearest police force to be used. You will then be issued with a trap ID number and as long as you use it properly, following conditions under the general licence you will be ok. The trap must have your ID number on it so it may be traced back to the owner.

peter pandy
In the UK it is only illegal to catch any bird in a Larson Trap that is not a Corvid with the exception in Scotland of the Jay and live bait can be used under strict instructions. www.THE TRAP MAN site gives all the information on the individual trapper. All the lovies of raptors and anti shooters would have you believe all the rubbish they spout.

sandy1585
Hi Phil, When you apply for an ID number you will not be supplied with any do's and dont's as you put it, but you will find most info online. The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 covers the main legislation underpinning corvid control. I am not aware of any approval of the use of live bait, but you can use live decoy of crow or magpie. William Reid
Larson traps as far as I'm concerned are not worth a .*expletive removed* unless you are in dence woodland location and the targeted sepiced can investigate around it without being annoyed by other birds . expletive remove had a mink in the Larson before I got a feather. TREBLE D
if you have a regular visitor to the garden the trap will work, if the visitor has a hit put the trap where its made the hit and put the kill in the trap and you will get the visitor no problem, think Solway feeders may sell traps.
