William Reid Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 had two short ones with some latebreds steven but birds been flying one to two hours everyday all winter might just wait on the training van starting for safety just paired the old birds last weekend and the yearlings are still not paired see if i can get a wee jig out them in the early races before i have to pair them to get room for youngbirds can only try m8Sorry for hijacking this thread . But what are you up to ya fly old .*expletive removed*. . Just had a look at this reply and I'm a bit stumped . For the last few years on this site you've had thirty plus tosses with you're L/B ,S what has changed this year .
BANDIT Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 After being locked up since september and started to get let out again in early march i think you need a few weeks lofts flying before you take them training..mine were flying 35 to 40 minutes per day before i started them training.to cold to send them to far 12 to 18 miles is enough.

For the last few years on this site you've had thirty plus tosses with you're L/B ,S what has changed this year . only got 5 latebreds im racing billy ive put 10 in the stock loft bred off my best birds my yearlings are still separated and been flying up to two hours a day for months ive fifty yearlings that will keep me in the shake up for the early ones and they will be going to the coast so plenty time can still have a dozen tosses if i wantps jim has only two or three latebreds this year so there was no need for early training he has a good team this year and is ready to go once the youngbirds are out the nest dont worry m8 we will be ready lol Edited April 1, 2016 by walterboswell59

Walter swanston Posted April 1, 2016 Report Posted April 1, 2016 Pigeon racing in Scotland starts too early. The weather in April can be and often is atrocious with heavy rain and cold east winds. All you veteran flyers are ignoring climate change unless things are different in tropical Lanarkshire. One thing I do know is that I have seen over the years is that a few successful fanciers do not show face at the pigeon marking until the first week in May.
