blue pied Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 i was away for the weekend there. i came home and had a pair sitting about 12/13 days but when i checked the nest there was 4 eggs in the nest. i thought at first someone was at the wind up but anyone have any thoughts? any chance of her laying again while sitting?
Novice Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Occasionally hens lay in a neighbour's nest. Could this have happened? It won't be a problem though. Just rear the first 2 which hatch and disregard the remaining eggs.

REDCHEQHEN Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 2 hens paired together or 1 cock and 2 hens paired together or a hen from another box who has y/bs in her own nest laying in her box I think that about covers every eventuality
