andy Burgess Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 Been building the base for the loft today and the side panels of the loft are 8ft 4 the ply I've acquired for the floor is 8ft, would it work to put a 4" strip of mesh along the back to act as my low level vent? It would be under nest boxes and perches so I could box the mesh of and fit vents, drill small holes or use more mesh th keep the birds from standing on it or would it allow damp to enter the loft from the ground? The lofts at least 18" off the ground if that makes any difference? ventilation sounds great , would have to be very secure though
Guest Hairylayer Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 The mesh would be the back 4 inches of the loft floor,I have some really small mesh under a cm square, would that be secure enough?I guess I could always black it off it it didn't work out or make a flap I could open in good dry weather.
HOMER49 Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 How closed up is yours Rab? Im coming to the conclusion its not about heat, just lack of drafts. Hi AllyFor widowhood racing you can`t have it warm enoughJeff Cooper designed my w/h loft and at times it reaches over 100 degrees, and that's when they perform bestCheersHomer 49
