Had a problem with Feather Rot for the last 3 years ...this year i saw it starting again on a cpl of my Ghent Kroppers , So i quickly dipped them all in Harkers Mitex - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harkers-Harka-Mitex-Pigeon-Mite-Treatment/dp/B00JHK4GVI/ref=sr_1_41?ie=UTF8&qid=1429091677&sr=8-41&keywords=harkers+pigeon

But at least 5 Ghents have gotton worse with bald patches on their chests again.

I never had a problem with this ever in all the time i have kept pigeons ..now this is the 3rd year ...i need to get on top of this ...Any suggestions appreciated!!

chlorcarb full pkt into a bucket of luke warm water dip each bird right in over the head and rub it into the crop area when done fill some spray bottles with whats left in the bucket and spray the nests with it also spray the birds chest again two weeks later does the job

Drop of ivomectin on bare patch as mite lives under the skin

Or a capful of Sheepdrench in a bucket of lukewarm water

Don't dip the pigeon head/eyes with the drench

I had the same problem a few years ago, the inside edge of my new plastic drinkers were very rough and the birds were dragging their crop feathers back through it after drinking and damaging the feathers. I sanded them off and the problem was solved.

I can assure you it will not be forever rot it will be a phosphorus

deficiency sorry about my spelling on previous post .your pigeons will lose feathers from their chest every time they start feeding young ones that's why it comes back every year for youmake sure you give plenty of phosphorus before breeding this will solve your problem
