eastcoaster Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 have had some great results from birds feeding BIG youngsters , especially yearlings The blue cock I was 3 rd in sect Maidstone 2014 was feeding a 20 day old yb and sitting 2 eggs , if I,m honest that was why I never pooled him , he gave me plenty hints mind but I overlooked them .
walterboswell59 Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 this is the way i race my birds phil but always have one of the pair at home when the youngsters are less than 8 or 9 days old so if you drop one of the pair the other can still rear and race to the youngster or have feeders that you can switch them under if want the yb but rearing and racing is great incentive for birds to race home and for a cock you dont get much better than big yb in the nest and his hen just down on eggs or a hen on chipping eggs or just hatched out some cocks like this also its all about finding out what nesting condition your pigeons like most as they are all different atb with it m8
philg50 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Report Posted January 12, 2015 I am going to hold off having youngsters until late on as i dont and wont be looking at doing darkness so this is what i am going to try so thanks for your words oh wisdom ,but does your club members nae give you a bit o stick about dirty wattles ,not that am worried but all you hear about now is widowhood of one kind or another .
