Big Davie Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Im not talkn about what yous already have.....The original post...or something like it....section pools and fed pools thatbare won each week...You dont have to enter every week... wait till ur preferred distance or when u think u have the birds in form...Its very simple.... club pools are already dying away have been for years.. this would be a step foward for the Fed and its members...Single bird ...or 4 bird nom...Per section and open is a fair bet...Paul You did say the west voted against it when they already had it, I was only telling you how the west club is run and that it really has nothing to with the fed, should be called the west sprint club anyway, as far as pooling in the fed goes I don't have a problem with it because your right you could enter it if and when it suited you and if you could afford it.
Guest stb- Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 we used to have a pool only and prize money club open to clubs in the fed the pool sheets were duplicated with your club sheet and handed to the sec of the pool club . The money was normaly very good for the first few races but as normal anywhere the same guys tend to win the pools most weeks which results in no one bothers after that . To be honet some would aswell put a fiver on the lottery as they would have the same odds no disrespect to any one meant just a fact of life
Guest stb- Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 just another point to add having flown in 3 diffo feds over the years none hasve had prize money or pools but some had a good 2 and 3 bird club with i think a fiver a doo and pools to a fiver giving out descent money paid 60% / 40%

Paul Mac 31 Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 But a Fed the size of Lanarkshire.....needs to be the first to lead the way in my opinion...Uv got say 18/19 races a year ...a fancier even at the top of their game can only win up to half of them... so the whole thing of havin someone dominate the pool money ..isnt really a factor... im talking as a whole ..not just as me the fancier... Really look at it...wether its a young guy or old timer gettin a lift..it pays his feed..treat the kids.. buy a doo or do what he wants... its another incentive thats my whole point...Its a known fact that when prize money is involved in any sport people up their games A guy tops his Section or finishes 1, 2,or 3 with a Nom... for a 9quid bet its a decent lift.

Ideally with a couple of others to collect the pools every week. Simples. Volunteers take one step forward

Volunteers take one step forward John the only reason the west IMO has always had great pools be it 3 bird club or 5 bird clubs / £5 noms even in our club sometimes £10 noms is for the simple reason nobody in our section has ever dominated the west section. Don't get me wrong lots of fantastic fanciers in the west section.. But if I was in the same club as the MACS I would think of it more a DIRECT DEBIT than pools . expletive remove 75 times 1st federation. Best doo men ever.

And before anybody jumps on my case watched the craziest doo man I have ever known for two years before I started back ( DEV ) and it totally changed my thinking

Its gettn harder and harder every year to take the top spot... alot more variables now..I think especially with a few top class fanciers in every sec now.. everyone would get a turn at it... but cheers for the compliment
