WE ARE NOT IN DEBT NOW, IT WAS A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN THE SHU WAS HAVING PROBLEMS FINANCIALLY AND THATS WHY THE CHARGE WAS INTRODUCED TO BRING IN SOME MONEY
celtic Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 If things are running better now and we're not in debt, why continue with the £1;50 charge ? why not reduce it or abolish it all together ?
HOMER49 Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Hi Alex first was the computers brought in to cut the wages and staff i think they cost over £15.000 second advertsing what?? third meeting about what that cost money?? fourth i think alf is right all ot do with the DEBT Hi Rab The computers did not cost £15k the software did Now before you ask what software cost that amount my information is Your distances were worked out by a company (individual) who the SHU employed to calculate your distance from racepoints Not a satisfactory solution I understand the SHU tried to buy the software which was refused Hence the employment of a software designer for the SHUs own distance calculater Now I think this was a good move by the council even though it stretched the SHU bank balance because if something happened to the former company and new distances were not available YOU would be the first one jumping up and down demanding to know why Adverts are placed in the BHW and RP for meetings/agm/appeals do you think these are free of charge Does North Lanarkshire Council give Garrion school/Motherwell Civic centre for use by the SHU foc The transfer charge was reintroduced at the meeting in MCC I was there you clearly were not. 400 people there not 1 voice against Linda Anne and John Barlow have done a marvellous job and should be congratulated Cheers Homer 49

Henrik Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 Wings it was the Members who decided to bring in the charge at an AGM and also decided how much it was going to be. If your not happy with this come along to the next AGM and put a motion in to remove it. There will be plenty room for you.
