There has been much talk about the problems we are all having at this time, and there,s no doubt there is a massive problem and if its not sorted out soon there will be no racing in the very near future, has there ever been a meeting with all the pigeon men from scotland,england, ireland, and wales to get together and iron the problems out, as far as im concerned all we do is moan, slag, and argue which causes bad feelings and fallouts, as many have said we do alot for charities, and other good causes WHY ! What thanks do we get, so get a fighting fund going to save our sport, get rid of the grumpy old guys and get people in with a bit of fight in them, younger men not YES MEN !RANT OVER.

off course theres a meeting its blackpool every year , hard to iron out problems when every ones opinion of the problems is like arsholes evey one has one . Like yesterday some say perfect racing day some say dissaster depends what fancier you talk to same evey week one lot het humped the other dont so its a great dsy for one bad for the other no common ground to work on

The NO.1 problem

It's a dieing sport it's a sport from generations past no advancements that has brought it into the 21st century it can't compete with the modern day pastimes it doesn't excite the youth of today and hasn't for years in. The numbers that it needs to sustain a sport it's a sport that needs time and patience many many of the youth of today don't have it

And THAT is the reason our sport is dieing

You can cover it up blame anything you want throw as much money at it as you want but without investment by the youth of today it will fade into oblivion

And your doing exactly what I said painting over the cracks you can race from where you want steamroller the playing field if you want numbers are dwindling fact maybe more birds being sent but by fewer lofts our club had 35 lofts when I started the club 2 mile up the road had 25+ and so on you'll be lucky if there's 40 between the 2 sooner or later feds will become clubs in our Fed alone there are clubs with less than 10 members and struggling you'll be lucky if there are 10% of club membership s under 30 the very young soon find other distractions we can't compete with x boxes PlayStation never mind teenage hormones expletive remove they'd rather spend there money and time killing aliens for 2 hours than looking after livestock

Yes im the 1 thats gave up pigeons, but not cause my wife snapped her fingers, my comments were meant to be tongue-in cheek moving house was a joint thing, and i will take up pigeons again if everything is ok its grumpy guys like you that starts trouble, im only trying to get talk going to help the sport and maybe get feedback from much more experienced pigeon men so please dont bring the thread down to childish slagging.

you are right tommy open national races from the likes of sweeden, all the uk members allowed and then we will see where the advantages lie in distance racing the barcalona race would look like a sprint race. race point would be set 700 mile from john o groat to lands end on a V SHAPE FROM THE RACE point DUE EAST OR WHAT EVER equals the parallel line on the posision of the country.

if you had a nat race from john o groate to Hanover the distance is 687 mile and to the race point in lands end to Hanover it is 663 mile
