Guest strapper Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 180 euro but thats just club by the time im finnished paying to race for one season its 260 euro thats what you pay to race?...we are discussing secretarys wages what does your sec get paid?
Tony C Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I went to my club's AGM last night & our secretary step down from the post after 5 years but no one wants to do the job apart from 1 man who wants 10 pound per member to do it there are 22 members in the club I wondered how much other clubs pay there secretary 3p a day per member....... sign him up. We have 20 members in club and our secratary is paid £150 per year, if he'd ask for double/treble that he'd get it.
Guest puresoontjen Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 our sec takes £200 this year he dos a fantastic job always willing to help. tony PIGEON_MAN
Roland Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 One was £400, he reduced it to £200 himself. Another £350, and the other £225.
dwh Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Our club secretary does not get paid, and we have no trouble in pur club. I was fed secretary for 12 months!!! boy oh boy, got paid £600 for the year, The job itself is pretty straightforward once you know what your doing, but the amount of people that wanted to see me fall flat on my face. And the talk behind my back. i only did it because no 1, yes no 1 would do the job!!! and i got my arm twisted a bit into doing it. So people are very quick to critizise, BUT will they do the job themselvs? and do most of them do anyhing other than critize others. So i for 1 have the upmost respect for any official of any club. my m8 who i fly with is club sec. and he gets paid but the amount of flak he takes is ridiculous every thing that goes wrong is blamed on him, would'nt ave the job for a gold cow 30 lofts in our club.applied 4 and won alottery grant 4 ets now we need new baskets members are now blaaming thelad 4 not using the bid 4 baskets (well the the1 or2 that did'nt want ets) so now its his fault they seem to 4get a sec. only acts on the majority vote a good sec is vital to a club and he is good sec. like i said would'nt have the job 4 a gold cow
stoker121 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Pontypridd South road club, Sec Fees £20 per member John
DOVEScot Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Our club secretary stepped down from Glenrothes and Leslie he was getting £200, he reckoned he he was out of pocket at the end of the year as he never claimed for expenses. Three members have now split the job getting £70 each
Guest tom123 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 what ever secretaires get half the time its not worth the hassle

Guest peter.j Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I went to my club's AGM last night & our secretary step down from the post after 5 years but no one wants to do the job apart from 1 man who wants 10 pound per member to do it there are 22 members in the club I wondered how much other clubs pay there secretary our subs are 35.00 with clock setters and secretaries fees included it go's up to around the 45 .00 mark
COTTONHEAT Posted February 5, 2010 Author Report Posted February 5, 2010 Thanks for your great response to this question
pjc Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I was getting £300 pa and thats what the current sec is now getting but as Tom says it doesn't cover your costs, the running around you do for members the phone calls etc let alone the time it takes to administrate the club. Many like to complain about there secs but are never prepared to take a turn!
THE PRIEST Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 I get £85.00 per year to cover Telephone and Petrol costs. Money is not important in the job the most important thing is having the support of the members. The job is hard enough without the hassel of the odd idiot who wont lift a finger to help.

Bloody hell thought the Holy men in charge of the chapels would get paid more than that. ;)
Guest tom123 Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 at the end of the day the money side is a bonus ,its down to wanting to do it ,but theres only so much you can take sometimes ,i do it has i want too not because i got to thats the difference
Guest BRYANBROCK Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 There are 30 members in my club and no one gets payed for doing a job. This helps to keep the club fee low.
