Had Terrible Race

I've had a terrible race from upper heyford today,couldnt get a timer I sent 4 birds & the longer I waited the more I knew I would time my blue hen at roughly 9 hours..well she surprised me and timed at 8.50 hours,at present I've 1/4 and I'm amazed when I hear people talking about an excellent race when there's a bird In camby at 12.43 nothing near it as far as I know for about 40 mins in west sec,what a timer,I've had my ups and downs in my first ob season having won 2 races in a strong blantyre club I'm punching well above my weight,don't mind not wining races as we can't win them all but in a blow hame shouldn't be hours behind the winners but that's the case,would also like to know why LAN fed liberated at 8 when most Feds n nats went at 6(roughly)was it fear of clashing or low cloud,I'm only asking because had no information three quarters of my club either didn't send or sent with south lanarkshire because of the losses in our racing this season..anyway well done to all club and fed winners and the snfc guys..hope good returns for all,I'm disillusioned with this racing and if the programme isn't changed for the ybs then I don't think I'll be sending in lanarkshire fed,I'll be changing Feds,as a newcomer to this game I don't know how we expect to keep newcumers to stay racing in this fed when the racing is so erratic,kenny

Nothing in this game is guaranteed other than you will have more disappointing races. Enjoy your wins.

Kenny wee know how your feeling but it's not just Lanarkshire it's happening all over it seems to be part and parcel of the doo game now and the ones that are hit hardest are people like you new cumers get the chin up this is just the doo game and how it levels us out be patient have a close look at what happened and how some got great racing and some didn't if it's any help I sent 11 birds to 282 Mls and at the moment iam still waiting on 4 so I've not had a great day either and I've got 30 year experience but some time there is no clear cut answer

I I know that guys ma old man had a great race winning club and return wise,but sorry Joni the fed book states eap lib so theirs no excuse for that,also got to take my fare share of hits bop wise,at the end of the day im new to the game and want my birds to be in the tickets every week( we all know that's not poss unless ure a top flier which I'm certainly not)but IMO I should Neva be 4hours behind winner in blow home from 291 miles,but on a better note just checked th loft and I've another one at 8.27 obv well flown but he'll do for Pau next yr lol,that's me 2/4 now but still not happy unless I'm in the tickets,as I've already stated bop are our worst enemy and either stand as one or divided we will fall,atb guys and thanks for the replies,well done to all winning pigeons and fanciers today,but as I've said if it's the same programme for ybs or we don't get a chance to vote on it with lrpf,then I won't be sending with them as more experienced men than me have been just about wiped out in this programme so it can't just be me..jmo.kenny

Feelin much the same as yersel Kenny, no in til 14.13 and only 2/4, though one had a bad mark against it going so no surprise it hasn't shown up yet.

Ps do u think if we went up at 6am your race would be any better? I'm sick of listening to guys saying why is davie putting us up first jst to feed the hawks....then he puts them up later he gets it in the neck again

Aye frank but if the racing keeps going this way I or any other new start won't have to give up and walk away coz there will be no pigeons for us to race(fact),and do you really think I or any new start wants yo give up and walk away after the time and investment I've gave to my birds nothing would be harder to do than turn my back on them,I love my birds and want to see them home on race days but if experienced men are finding it tough then how tough dyu think I'm finding it,something has to change for the better of our sport & what I'm saying is how can wee expect to attract new fanciers into the sport with the racing were exp lately,I wish I had some answers but I don't but surely between youse more experienced men then youse have a better idea of what changes have to be made than me,atb kennybhoy

George I've already stated I wouldn't be a race controller for all the tea in china &and at no point did I blame the controllers I only wanted to know why we weren't up as early as other Feds. As we weren't informed of y we were 2 hours behind most org,not saying I'd have had a betta race m8 sometimes u've gotta be honest with yourself and your birds just weren't good enuf on the day or with the strong winds they've made a slight mistake and as I'm only racing yearlings could well b the case m8,but that's only this race not previose ones were guys have lost 20/40 pigeons in one race I'm just thinking there's got to b something we can b doing to make it better racing..I just don't know the answers m8 that's why I'm asking the experienced men,atb kenny

You can ask the experienced men from now tae doomsday its just doos you take it on the chin ,pick yourself up ,and get on with it .I have just started back into this and it is hard to get going i expected this and saddly i am right lost birds, had dissapointments ,but there are no easy answers.

That's rite I heard wee Wilkie millen lost 4first section winners lst wk dnt whether it's true or not but il tell u this much I've got enough birds to see the season out n I'll tryn dae that aw am sayin is for newcomers into this sport it harder to take than it is for the experienced guys n way comments like you've just made to a new starter just lookin for advice how do u expect them tae stay in the game,way guys way ure attitude it's maybe time u shut up .or wid u just be be happy to kill aff the pigeon game,kennybhoy

Agree George they've done me proud ,I set out to get on the result on derby race,well I done betta than that won ma club n got 2 on the raesult taking aw ma pools us doo-men r Neva happy,that's it iv a don't take the first six in the fed next wk I'm chucking it(only sending two )lol,,*expletive removed* it m8 need tae hold ma hands up,a had a stinker but still got a timer,just gutted ma timers no even at next wks races..haha,onwards n upwards..so they say,atb bud

my pick out my team for the nat today did not get hear till after 4oclock .it pissed me right off .tried to get my head round it.then spoke to a fancier with more experience than me.he said look on the bright side he is home he does not race well in blow homes .with a bit rest and good feeding he will be a strip fitter than the others come the next nationl as he was longer on the wing. so learning a wee bit more and looking at something that pissed me of with a diffrent view.
