Trying to get a result for 7 fanciers on a Unikon system, I switch it on and go through all the usual procedure and suddenly it asks me for an activation code which I had put in at the beginning of the year as I have done each year for the past 9 years. How the f*** am I supposed to get an activation code from Unikon at 7pm on a bank holiday?

Does it usually ask for it and when you press ok twice its ready to go?

i had the same problem earlier and they said if you leave the radio clock disconnected from the base unit for a lenth of time it thinks its not getting used and loses the code, thats for the professional system their advise, even when switched off leave the radio clock conected

No it has never asked for an activation code in the middle of the season before.

Ours asks for it every week,I just press ok twice and it fine.

I am aware of three systems that have done the same over the weekend Walter infact a pal of mine went to his club on Friday and the system would not even let the mark birds.

Two years ago my club one and the SNFC one I have both did that on the same day had to phone Unikon twice. They gave no explanation other than the date and year must have been set wrong.

Well obviously I will phone Unikon in the morning and if I can gain any useful information I will publish it on this site.

If you get any new or for that matter old information from Unikon think the site would have to call you sir Walter :emoticon-0136-giggle: . Because they will tell you .*expletive removed* all . :)

I phoned Unikon this morning and persuaded them to give me an activation code.I am not happy with their attitude, they tried to make out that it could be my own fault for not filling in their documentation before the beginning of the season which is complete nonsense as I have been club secretary at Lockerbie since before Unikon was heard of and have always responded to their letters. The guy I spoke to told me he would give me an activation code this once as if he was doing me an enormous favour and now I am left wondering what if it happens again. It is my intention to write a letter to the SHU and make them aware of this deplorable situation.

This will also be the answer from the SHU

I am still waiting on an answer about faulty chip rings which they never heard of but did tell me to glue them in !!!!

I found Unicon extremely helpful when I went personally to their office to complain about a brand new pad never used and just out of the box. Their technician tested it and said it would cost me £90 plus VAT to repair with no guarantee or I could purchase a new one for £120 with a year's. I took the new one and left a small message to pass on "Bunch of Robbing Bstrds".
