blaz Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 if your birds raced the south to north road as young birds yearling ect. then are raced from west coast to east and switched to inland nats racing south to north.how do you think birds will fair over season.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Should be ok. We train our birds east to west and race the south road programme and they cope. You are just talking about training in the opposite direction.

Rooster J. Cogburn Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Have read about doos like George Stubbs' 'Trixie' that scored from the Faroe Island and San Sebastian as well as Wing Commander Rayner's bird that scored from Lerwick and Pau within an 18 day period. It will be interesing to see how you get on with it

blaz Posted April 15, 2014 Author Report Posted April 15, 2014 i am talking about racing our fed (midlothian) we raced east coast south to north for years past.this year my yearlings plus that have only raced that route.now all birds have to race from west to east then face the 2 inland nationals that are south to north..my question is how would you think birds would fair.
frankdooman Posted April 15, 2014 Report Posted April 15, 2014 Do you mean your fed are going down the west route blaz

tyson Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 gary your forgetting we flew the west coast for years then we had to switch to east coast the birds still coped did you not fley with your youngbirds down the west coast 3yrs ago the members felt the losses were getting beyond a joke down the east side so we have to try something different to hopefully improve the returns nothing ventured nothing gained
frankdooman Posted April 16, 2014 Report Posted April 16, 2014 It's still south to North won't make any difference the wind will dictate where the birds come up country let's face it most of the races east or west route move to a more central route down the country at the 250 ml range
