I've been blessed this passed couple of years in the breeding side of things, having had 2 x 1st W/Sec winning Ck's in my lofts on loan to run with her and her offspring. Also sons and daughters from other 1st W/Sec birds that have been given to me. I have paired sons and daughters from all 3 together as well as some other stock either gifted to me or purchased at sales from the best winning SNFC lofts in this area.

Admittedly my results haven't reflected this so far but that is down to me not the birds. i hope this season to get my act together and do the birds justice. I have had great feedback, especially this winter, from fanciers who have had birds off me and have scored well with them in their respective Feds so i know the quality is in my lofts. My brother has come in with me this season too so we're hoping to push each other to get the best from them. Time will tell.!!!

Cracking hen and photo, noticed the wide eye cere on the youngsters is this a family trait? Nice y/birds John.

Yes Alex it is a trait in the family. Going back to her great grand dam and grand great grand sire. Paired together they bred a Ck that was named Told You So, Jan Ardent strain who is/was the best pigeon I have ever raced. I paired him to his half sister who had huge ceres, they bred the dam of Equipoise when paired to a direct Marthe Van Geel Ck that I purchased at a late bred sale she had at Newmains in 2006. The original hen was a gift from Ken Buchanan of Hamilton in 2002. I hated the sight of that hen as she was wild as hell and upset the loft every time I went in. Had I bred her myself I would most likely have got rid of her but being a gift I kept her and she turned out to be a fantastic racer. Strange oold game this !!

Thanks guys, I took an early round from the stock loft hoping they will see me through the last couple of races. The rest of my Yb's will be flown natural but are unlikely to beat the Darkies or early bred doos they will race against, again time will tell !!
