I cant see the velocities Walter but to cover 481 miles in 4 hours 3 minutes there must have been some powerful gust of wind up there tails :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Sorry Andy I should have said

the birds were liberated at 7am in a south wind. The winning pigeon was timed a 1603 on a velocity of 1559ypm

East section winner 1324 ypm

West Section winner 1318 ypm

You're right though-it would have been a hell of a wind for them to do 481 mile in 4 hours and 3 minutes :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Although a strong south wind the first few birds were streets ahead of the rest did'nt turn out the easy race that winning velocities suggest .
