one thing i would like to say is if your lucky enough to win be humble no one likes a big head or someone trying to rub it in like ive said before its easy to be a winner and no matter how disapointed you are shake the winners hand even if he is an ass hole your a sportsman even if hes not and it creates harmony in the club and your turn will come and a hand shake and well done from your club m8s gives you a great lift and is what our sport is all about imo

in fact il start just now cause this may take a while lol

ive made lots of mistakes in pigeon racing and il make more no dout but here is some of what ive found out with trial and error starting with the loft if you have plenty of money by all means buy a big fancy loft if you have the room its nice to look at but it makes no difference to pigeons inside as long as its dry with plenty of air going through it an 8 by 6 garden shed will do just fine use your nose as the judge if you can smell amonia the air flow is not right take a plank off the bottom front and one off the top back wall replace with wire and that should sort it dont worry about birds being cold in the winter thats why they have feathers your loft will get warmer as the weather heats up bringing your birds into condition when it counts during the racing season

next the pigeons this is where you have to save and buy what you can afford its all very well guys saying you get the best birds through friendship and that may be true but we are not all friends with the top flyers so here is what to do get your self 3 or 4 pair of birds from your locall club members tell them your looking for some cocks and hens for feeders or get them cheap from anyone packing up or sales

next have a look at the location your are in and what races you want to excel in if the fanciers nearest you win well at fed and club level from the first to the longest races then so should you with the right birds dont be afraid to go to the best flyer in your area and ask if you can buy some eggs which will be alot cheaper than buying youngbirds if its the long races your interested in ask if you can buy eggs off the birds he is sending to the nationals and set your feeders up to catch them as long as your birds are sitting 2 to 3 days of his birds they should be ok with the soft food or even better get them fresh layed and they will keep till yours have layed failing this get them from a stud i cant see past louella as all my best birds have come from them ive won with there bushaerts vanreets jansens and now with the jan aardens with a stud your garenteed the blood is there buy six youngbirds and fill the loft with youngbirds off them then train and race them hard to sort out the wheat from the chaff then use them as your breeders next specialize by that i mean choose the races that you want to win or score in be it the short races or the long races unless you can afford and have the time to work a big team that you can split for short and long races its best to choose one or the other because if you have one bad toss or race and you will its only a matter of time and luck and if your small team is out your seasons over dont let your will to compete cloud your judgement train them hard for the early races have go then stop them or pair late hold them back to 3 or 4 races then set them up for the big one this way you can compete with the big boys who are sitting with fresh birds in the loft be realistic in what you hope to achive better to send 10 pigeons to your chosen race than one or two to ten races yes your competing but your chances are slight need to sort my birds now be back on later to talk of other things cheers

is this what you mean blas to help the new starts
