Ypres in early June, Reims gold cup race and Clermont. Leave inland races to federations or combines to organise.

Ypres is to be a memorial race in 2014 to commemorate the centenery of the start of WW1. While no firm date has been set for it (to encourage others to go and so create a massive liberation) only the first 3 weekends in July are available for that purpose.

I believe Dr Lynch is going to put a letter in the BHW explaining about Ypres 2014, it is hoped to have an International Lib to commemorate the start of WW1

I think making Ypres an all Britain or international race could be detrimental to the SNFC race we have been getting good racing from Ypres since we 1st went to it going ourselves getting a good line from it but with pigeons getting dragged all over the place would as many people look at it as being a great yearling or untried 2yr old race next year???

would agree Alan with birds going to spain holland germany etc its a race for the top exsperienced doos untried best left at home , have an international race by all means but not part of the snfc programe

what I cant understand is lanarkshire etc are flying the west route why then are you wanting to fly out of belgium and possibly germany surely you should be going back to the old race points sartilly rennes nantes which is on that line of flight not going away to the east or is it all to do with overfly once again

I am concerned about the SNFC not the Lanarkshire Fed, and over the last few years the east has served us well, so why not give it a go and try it ?

and the measurements are fairer when flying from the east due to the way the UK sits.

Its to explain the idea behind the race, nothing definate yet, also international as in England Ireland and Wales not continentals, going to be a one of as the Mayor of Ypres has asked the SNFC to take this on board. Will still have to be passed at the AGM Alan

It's not that kind of international race. All the birds will be heading home to Britain, and the exact nature of the race has yet to be decided - by all participants. It is flexible - banded liberations, single liberations and liberations on separate weekends are possible. The main thing we want to show in front of the World's media is solidarity and commitment to this memorial race while remaining flexible & co-operative to ensure it is a success. There is an article being prepared for publishing in BHW and RP which clearly sets out what this is about, what we are trying to do, and why.

Well we know their are facilities at every race point mentioned Robert, Frankfurt was the only one we didn't know about but you changing it to Bonn, the Welsh use that race point so all race points are fine.ps. the vote on this poll doesn't really reflect the one you would get at the AGM.

the welsh are about 480 to bonn.my opinion del is our birds biggest problem is percy .percy doesnt live in the sea ,a would prefer my birds travelling across water than land ano thers hazzards with sea but getting bombarded with strikes all the way up the british isles is our biggest problem get east jmo

Alright bullcock

did you get a seconder and put your proposal in?

No, Have been busy with work all week, and I didn't have a seconder, also I didn't feel confident enough or have the energy to stand up and justify all these proposals knowing that I would get shot down in the hall by many, but the poll shows that dropping the first inland seems to be popular even if it gets the most birdage, and going east seems to have a mixed response, we will have to wait and see how the meeting pans out.

Thanks for that, I have been busy and actually forgot about it, but like I said, I don't fancy the hassle and heckling in the hall, It would be nice to put a proposal forward and let the body of the hall democratically decide, but we all know it doesn't work like that and I don't want to be cannon fodder for some.

Maybe I'm not as thick skinned as some, but can't be bothered with the bitching that would follow.

I thought you would have actually had it in after the bother of having a poll which looks in your proposals favour .
