Silverdale Lofts Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Was going to pair up a few stock birds today and changed my mind feeling it was too cold
ally mac Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Think that might be my problem Tommy, a few pairs are a bit slow to lay. Not quite as cold as its been but it blowing a gale and bucketing down now, will be for the next few days too

DUBLINFLYER Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Was going to pair up a few stock birds today and changed my mind feeling it was too cold dont mind me saying but i think your loft could be a wee bit open for this time of year... try and cover some of your vents /louvers with transparent plastic bags... and maybe some of the mesh wire as well, stop the cold coming in right on top of them.... dont get me wrong i havnt seen your loft but judging the foto it appears it mite be open just a wee bit, nice cock all the same

Silverdale Lofts Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 I was thinking of running a competition if anyone is up for it the winner can have the pick of a young bird off one of the above cocks'The question is what breed is the red cock in the top picture ?
ally mac Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I will show how little I know about strains. Busschaert
Delboy Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Was going to pair up a few stock birds today and changed my mind feeling it was too cold The temperature doesnt stop them mating m8. A gail blowing through loft might take the edge off them but still wont stop them mating.
Silverdale Lofts Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 Van de rhee ???? Saartje lines ? Delbar is looking well Tommy and the bargain of the sale in mine and more importantly Steve's opinion. There is a massive sale of Delbars coming to Blackpool Tommy, many originate from Steve so watch out for them as i have the pictures and there is some real top drawer in there. Must agree i got the bargain of the sale with that cock if nobody gets the breed i will start giving a few clues when its run for a while
