Hi lm looking for a bit of advice. My young birds are very mature, been on the dark, all they seem to want to do is *expletive removed* they're brains out. I've split em up I dont want the young hens laying What do the rest of you do?

tony i only have an 8by6 y/bird loft so cant split sexs but if you can you will find they exercise a lot better and on the friday let them run together some fanciers have a lot of success this way if you cannot seperate try flagging them best of luck whatever you choose

throw a few bowls on the floor stick two house bricks between them --pot them after they lay-dont worry if two hens lay in same nest and sit with a cock or two.

Youngsters are split about 10 days before the last old bird race

Because the old birds are also split for racing - they are paired back together just before the last old bird race - and left together, so I have room to race the youngsters 'on roundabout'
