Henrik Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Im not scaremongering Walter, just pointing out facts. Wont bother me to pay £6 to send a bird as I only send 2 or 3 anyhow, just cut out some of the pools and that evens it out.
yeboah Posted July 16, 2013 Author Report Posted July 16, 2013 Wouldnt bother me either Derek but when you take into consideration the fact that maybe 80% of our members are either OAP,s or unempolyed then I think it could have a significant effect on both the birdage and membership of our Club. If for instance it meant taking 2 transporters to a racepoint instead of one it could effectively mean paying £6 a bird instead of £3 as you would be doubling the cost of the race. Its all things that need looked at, same as these baskets with the drinkers down the side this would take away floorspace to make room for the drinker slot which would mean reducing the number of birds as well all of these things need to be taken into consideration, end of the day it wont be my problem next yearAgree with what you are saying bobby and Derek got to be well thought through and make as much use of basket space available on the lorries ,heard someone discussing at race marking one night about what I think was a north road transporter where the basket was split down the centre allowing a trough filled with either feeding or water to be inserted and birds access full length of baskets access to water is main concern .

Henrik Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 NRCC transporter have the feed and water passed thru from the lid thru the middle of the basketMight be worth while having a look at one then or does someone have a photo that can be posted up?
knoxjn Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 we are back to the same old nonsense aain geraldys are the only way to ensure proper access to water as the entire length of the crate i open the convoyer then can oversee tht birds can get to the water best of luck to all who enter clermont
geordie1234 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 The lanarkshire transporters offer the best baskets or any other fed with the same...the feeders/drinkers are separate to every other crate massive room to eat and drink great height and no cross contamination between crates.

walterbmasson Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 As I said before Mr Masson if your not happy come to the AGM with a proposal and get it voted thru, but if you cant be bothered to attend nae point mouthing off about it on a forum. If it is for the benifit of the doos i will mouth off any where , theres no moths in my cupboard i will say it ta any bodys face and that means at meetings whatever and any one that knows me will tell you that s the case , but for you ta say it doesent matter how many doos goes into a basket with extreme heat i would love ta tell you ta yer face what you are, no wonder its a dying game with fanciers like you posting rubbish with abnormal heat forcasts and you think its all right ta make birds use energy for a drink and then fly 600miles your some ???????
geordie1234 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Aye and from what I hear they are so flimsy you need a frame to lift them on to the lorry when they are filled?Whoever told you that probably doesny hang about to load the transporter because that is a load of tosh aluminium steel crates are by far more sturdy than a wicker basket by a country mile....maybe you should ask the belgians or the germans Bobby

Stick the rules out the window , when it comes ta the welfare of our birds in extreme circumstances , give the birds the benifit of the doubt , and dont come away with rules are made for everyone as rules are broken every year , and they dont get the same chance , so dont get me started with more of your crap ?
walterboswell59 Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 calm down lads but must agree because its a rule does not make it right this is where we need strong leadership to step up and use comonsence over a rule book but we dont have that it seems imo
Henrik Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 lol, Bobby, if ye arent happy with the SNFC,( committee man ) what chance have we got lol.Derek m the same every race, I do my owne race controlling and if I dont like what I see I dont send, case in point being the inland Newbury last year knew we wernt gonna get a race so didnt send. Weve had this weather for a fortnight now so the guys who are shoutin yesterday about the no of birds in a basket could have foned the sec and asked for it to be looked at but naw well just go on basics and have a dig at the committee and we,ll mibe fone a scribe in the BHW and get him to have a dig as well, well I,m done with it flook you,s all, hope they only put 15 in at the North section cos that will just be giving Andy and the rest work filling the baskets to 20 at this end. I see Williedoo has had enough of them up there this year too and is chucking it,another good worker down the tubes. And as for Geraldies have Lanarkshire or any other Feds using them had any better racing this year, only need to look at the Ancesis race against Ypres, falling in at 430 from Ypres from wicker, but struggling at 300 from Ancesis into the Midlands from Geraldy.

geordie1234 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Your talking sh** about transporters you know nothing about transporting animals or birdsWhat you going to do when the eventual happens and wicker baskets are no more?? Why do you hate Lanarkshire so much? it's not our fault we are bigger and have better transporters

geordie1234 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 Shows your attitude when you coming on a forum saying someone elses opinion is sh** lol all the best hopefully one day your fed doesn't decide to pick a geraldy you wouldnt be happy

Why do you hate Lanarkshire so much? it's not our fault we are bigger and have better transportersGearge there is nobody hates Lanarshire, or for that matter any other federation but there is no evidence to say that Geraldie type crates and transporters are any better than the ones we have always used. If you read the veterinary report into the Maidstone race you may find that the vet was full of praise about the condition of the birds the ventilation of the transporter and also the comfort afforded to the birds, I wonder what he would say if he say the pools of droppings on the cardboard prior to the Lanarkshire liberation that is on you-tube. Maybe George when you have a few years experience with the pigeons, then you will be qualified to make a comparison. Tell you what after 7 days standing in sh** with nothing to dry it up your birds will not be in a fit state to fly 50 mls never mind 500 and dont hit me with 4 bean tins of easibed will sort it cos it wont, the birds need and deserve a 2 inch layer of shavings so they can lie down and rest.
