Guest CraigForsyth Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 Let 15 young birds go about 14 miles from home this is about there 6th toss and 2hours 30mins later no sight of any of them anywhere when I let them off there was a slight sign of fog about a mile in the opposite direction from which they should be heading. Absolutely gutted think iv lost them all? Craig
JADE Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 Hopefully they will turn up in the morning. I think you need to ask some older members of your club for advice on when it is suitable to train. I take it you liberated them quite late in the day and there has been no sun here today and if there is fog nearby it is really not conditions for training young birds. I know you are young and keen but doo racing is a hard game nowadays and you get a lot of knocks along the way. Good luck
Guest CraigForsyth Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 Thanks and yeh let them out at 7:30!
Guest chad3646 Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 Thanks and yeh let them out at 7:30! very very late craig you were not giving the birds much of a chance if the did run into something like fog etc etc best of luck

hawked again Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 I took mine training a couple of years ago but fog was coming in so brought them back to about four miles from home at about 18:00. As soon as I let them out fog dropped round me like a curtain. I only had about four home by nightfall. It was nice and sunny in the morning and they were all waiting for breakfast when I got up. I hope your as lucky as I was.
