Sorry to say it doesn't matter how old someone is, birds can't come right without good treatment.

mate as far as im aware ther is no easy or cheap cure.lots of people come on here saying this and that.i will tell you what it is.its a combination of virus and bacteria and the only way to help the birds is to combat the bacteria side of it.pigeon fanciers have remedies and potions but thats what it is and if it works then get some off them.

Im glad you agree with me there, when i started a few years ago i had my birds ill the advice i was given 'don't feed them much give them barely and leave them' i did that and a few pasted away on me, another fancier (now a good friend) gave me some proper advice and told me to get them tested and treat them with what they said to treat with, If i'd had got his advice 1st none would have been lost through death

good on you both for helping him out.we all know how much medicine costs especially if you have a lot of birds.

Had the sickness for 3 years ,Now when putting the youngsters into there section which is 100% bone dry put a thick layer of easibed on floor and perches then never clean section out again only adding new topping to floor after spraying with dettol only clean perches when they have no room to sit spray and cover with easibed ,also treated with parastop when weaned for 10 days and have never had sickness since ,works for me so have done same this year 60 in 12x 8 section 100% healthy
