What happens to the rings collected from these man made nesting sites? The rings are our property so would failing to return/report them to their rightful owner be some sort of theft?

I did ask that question on their Nottingham site, they said they are collected and sent to the RPRA at the end of the season, this could be true as I doubt the RPRA would notify owners or return rings

I would think that it is the duty of the RPRA to inform the owners of the unfortunate pigeons of their demise.

Seen the cheq. before,green/blue life ring.

I do agree but in 50 yrs. I can't say I've ever had a dead bird or vacant ring reported to me by the RPRA

I wonder why we never get any recognition for saving the Peregrine, It obviously costs us a lot of money, probably more than the RSPB pay out
