Blue Chequer Pied Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 A clubmate of mine has had a bird return from a race minus its ETS ring. Nothing new there I hear you say as it seems to happen regularly. For the sake of £1.30ish I don't know how people can stoop so low and steal from fellow fanciers. Anyway the reason for this post is that the tw@t that took it off almost took one of the birds toes off at the same time. Unbelievable, these people should not be allowed to keep livestock. So if any body who is assigning rings in a club most likely from Perth North to Inverness can be on the look out for a Unikon ring serial number C911499A as there is a guy in Inverness who would like a word with its new 'owner'.

Disgusting Paul, the *expletive removed* who stole should be reported to the Union about this, someone who steals a ring from another fancier is just scum. My club mate was telling me the day also, he had a bird returned from last week minus the ETS ring. Why does certain people doo this, maybe Jelous of other people, who knows.
airdrie2 Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 i have also had a doo return this week minus its ets ring but i know its been in somewhere so it gets a chance next week to right itself
andy Burgess Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 have had this happen too , a lost youngster reported ,he said it had the ETS ring on and released it the next day , it went 4 mile up the road , went in another loft ,he reported it with no ring on (and i honestly believe him ) collected it from him .so why report it and remove the ETS ?? no idea at all ,some folk eh ?
andyyy Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 9/10 strays have Ets rings on these days, to remove everyone just to show it's been in is just silly, and wasting other peoples money there are alot simpler ways to show that a bird has been in somewhere, Ie a not in the ring or just put a clip on ring on the bird to show thats it's been with another fancier.
blue bar Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Hi are you sure that is being taken off we have had birds that have hit boxes at lib and have come open one fancier had this happen and the ring was around all off its toes this could be happening and there falling off some i say would be taken off by fanciers
cemetary Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Hi are you sure that is being taken off we have had birds that have hit boxes at lib and have come open one fancier had this happen and the ring was around all off its toes this could be happening and there falling off some i say would be taken off by fanciers Its very dificult for a ring to come off after being caught on something when getting released, when he ETS ring is placed on the bird, there is a double click, that makes sure that the ring is correctly on,some people only click it once. These rings in my opinion, arent easy removed from the birds leg. This is happening to lot to fanciers who fly with ETS,and its a shame that people are stealing from one another for the sake of £1.50
Blue Chequer Pied Posted May 5, 2013 Author Report Posted May 5, 2013 Not many clubs between Perth and Inverness ? Did your doo tell you this happened on route up the a9 ? No1. It's not my doo ( maybe get somebody to help you read the posts in future ) No 2 Our birds tend to go up round the east coast so work it out yourself! (well get somebody to help you maybe) :emoticon-0157-sun:
Blue Chequer Pied Posted May 5, 2013 Author Report Posted May 5, 2013 Reed your first post on this your Laying blame on Perth members and other clubs north of Perth Go open up a map and tell me how many clubs is on the line from Perth to Inverness Look forward to your reply Wind your neck in I am not laying the blame on anybody. There are not many doo's that will go in a straight line from Perth to Inverness but the bird was liberated at Perth and flew to Inverness but as I said via the East cost more than likely. So you go and look at a map and see how many clubs lie on that path
