peter pandy Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 On 1st Sept last year I had 9 y/b at 170 mls Fed Open with 8 returning within 20 minutes. My last one returned this morning with 4 tail feathers missing. The last time I had a bird lying out all winter was 1980 and hope history will repeat itself as that bird 2 weeks later was 1st club 2nd Fed 70 miles then sent to Cheltenham 300 miles and won 1st club 3rd Fed. As a 2 year old she scored from Nantes. For Roosters info she was a G/Daughter of Red Rock.
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Will be interesting to see how the bird turns out. Has it been injured? I've a 'first' this season. I'm dealing with a 2010 bred blue pied hen that was sent to Clermont in July 2011,but did not turn up until August 2012. She narrowly missed assassination off the top of the loft,as my first impression was that a feral pigeon had landed with the birds. The rubber ring perished when touched, webbing on the flights was almost non existent and just generally a mess. The pigeon received no special treatment and has had as good a moult as any pigeon in the loft. I'll be interested to see how this pans out also, as on paper this bird is as "well bred" as we have.
andy Burgess Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 i am always happy to give them a second chance , usually reward you with a few prizes.
THE FIFER Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 I had 6 birds with ETS rings on in the loft a couple of months ago, they must be birds returning as i cleared all rings a while back,

Hi Lewis their are no injuries that I can find nor any vermin, He is quite well down in the body and 2 end flights are pretty frayed but he has picked up since this morning, He is a grizzle from John Harwood so have high hopes for him. Fingers crossed.
