Old laptop was goosed and getting slower all the time, so this Ad for Windows 8 caught my eye on tv so i got myself a new laptop with this Windows 8 installed. Problem is i am totally baffled by it and know for a fact i should be getting a lot more out of it. Anyone know about it?? Particularly the Apps!!!

Well whatever i done with this new bleedin winaes 8, i managed to disable my laptop altogether then when i got it "fixed" i realised it wisnae letting me onto the internet and the wee touch pad for ma cursor wisnae responding, think that was Tuesday night and i've only now got the Cursor working and am obviously back online so i'm thinkin of advertising ma self as a windaes 8 technician noo

All right John, I got a new Laptop for Xmas also and find windows 8 a PAIN in the @rse, pardon the pun, your touch pad will probably have an on off button in the corner which you have accidently pressed, windows 8 takes a bit of getting used to, press the "windows" key on the key board to take you back to the main window if you lose your way, it all works with APPs, but you will have a desktop APP, if you select this it will take you to your desk top which will be almost the same as your old computer and everything works the old way.

When in Windows 8 move the cursor to the corners and you will get different options, watch the you tube videos to see what they do.

I still prefer the old system, but you will get used to it.

how do you stop it flashing from one screen to another when you move the curser it seems to have a mind of its own

I think your talking about the touch pad on your lap top, it is very sensitive and if you move it over an APP it sometimes thinks you selected it,watch you aren't touching it with your wrist or palm when typing. hope this helps.
