Dunfermline Athletic live to fight another day as they go into interim administrationhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

where will this end up, for the Pars?

Is this another sign that Scottish football is on the decline?

I think there are too many clubs, when you look at gate numbers and the expense of running a club it just doesn't add up

Been a pars fan all my life , we have now to ditch most of the first team and a couple of youngsters, very sad day for football, jim jefferies is staying on without a wage to steer the sinking ship, what a guy

Scottish football is not dying it is already dead

maybe so but my wee team Partick Thistle were in the same boat ten years ago and have turned it round, the problem with most clubs is mainly due to overspending, the sums are not that difficult cut your cloth accordingly, far too many club chairman living in fantasy land!!!!!!!! :partick-thistle-Crest: :partick-thistle-Crest: i do hope the pars can survive though!! :(

I think the major difference is a 100yrs. ago the players were on working men's wages, not a bit like today

Posted

Yeah but ppl were paying a shillin to get in unlike ticket prices today

You're right George and the players were going home with a few shillings

Posted

I know a few players that go home with no much more than a few shillings in the spl lol

I wonder what the weekly wage bill is for top teams in the EPL

Posted

what they serve up is on the whole awful if they dropped the prices people would go back try taking your family to an spl game on a normal saturday its not worth it the hearts are on the right road give the youth a chance rangers are back on the same road that got them into trouble the money they are paying some of those players is madness there young players are getting booed of the park in a league they are winning by 20 points expletive remove
