Been a lot of changes in the last 25 years, but looking at some of the information and familiar names you've provided not too many.

A year to remember for yourself, lets hope 2013 is another. Thus far I find it hard to believe it will be a "good year weather wise" :emoticon-0136-giggle:

1988 Avonbridge had the first bird into the fed that year from Rennes.Andra Lamond of 'Blue Power' fame

I'm sure this is when Robert Cormack had his good hen 'Freckles' on the go-18th,12th and 7th open SNFC Rennes in successive seasons

think you might be right Lewis a champion hen!!!!!! :)

A special pigeon in the hands of special fancier.

Its a great shame she met her end in front of the loft to a sparrahen.

I don't think she was given the oppurtunity to fulfill her potential as a breeder as she was on wi a cock Robert didn't really rate as 'good enough' for her,but she was racing to him.In saying that I'm sure a son of hers bred Robert's 'Supreme'-twice 1st Section D and 7th Open in the Millenium Messac Gold Cup race. The apple doesnae fall far from the tree :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Ma grandad flew that year when was alive the president was in club with him and sure j fyall was in club wae him to

I'd heard Sam Ovens is still living through in the Clackmannanshire area, but I couldn't say 100%

I was talking with Robert earlier tonight, telling him about a pals winner in the SNFC Maidstone that had been killed with the Hawk.We spoke of Freckles and how she was taken from the batch when flying round the loft. Robert got her back from the field where she went down, but she died later. I`m sure he won`t mind me saying this, but in the Gold cup race when with only a few birds on the night, Nan told me that Robert woke her next morning at the back of five to say he had just timed Freckles in (well pooled). Nan said "he was shaking like a leaf",it seems no matter how many times you time good doos in these races, the magic never leaves you. Robert Cormack is certainly a gentleman.

I spoke with Sam at Blackpool two years ago, and he was back living in Sauchie. I think he is the councillor for that area. :emoticon-0167-beer:

Re ''Pride o the Glen'' Lewis, Was she a yearling when she won it? Think she came from Jimmy's nephew Jim Smith's Parkside Bloodlines? Remember that Jim was p'eed off when he got the sire back fi Jimmy as he wouldn't pair up for at least 2yrs, and dont know if he ever did?!

Do you remember Davie Meldrum at all? A proper gentleman he was, but couldn't fly his own doos because of a nuisance neighbour, so kept them in just to keep the peace.

Was 88 the year Jock & David Maxwell won the fed open from the last race?
